*** Ο Γιάννης Μανώλης υποψήφιος αντιπεριφερειάρχης
Τον πρώην βουλευτή και γραμματέα Συνδικαλισμού της Νέας Δημοκρατίας Γιάννη Μανώλη επέλεξε ο Αντώνης Σαμαράς για υποψήφιο αντιπεριφερειάρχη στις αυτοδιοικητικές εκλογές του Νοεμβρίου στο ψηφοδέλτιο του Βασίλη Κικίλια.
Υποψήφιος αντιπεριφερειάρχης με τον συνδυασμό του Βασίλη Κικίλια στην Αττική θα είναι ο πρώην βουλευτής Γιάννης Μανώλης. Όπως αναφέρεται σε ανακοίνωση της ΝΔ, «μετά τη συνάντηση, που είχε με τον πρόεδρο της Νέας Δημοκρατίας Αντώνη Σαμαρά, ανακοινώνεται ότι ο γραμματέας Συνδικαλισμού της ΝΔ Γιάννης Μανώλης (πρώην βουλευτής και γραμματέας της ΓΣΕΕ) θα είναι υποψήφιος αντιπεριφερειάρχης Κεντρικού Τομέα στο ψηφοδέλτιο της Περιφέρειας Αττικής υπό τον Βασίλη Κικίλια».Εξάλλου, το απόγευμα σήμερα συνεδριάζει η εκτελεστική γραμματεία της ΝΔ υπό την προεδρία του Αντώνη Σαμαρά, με τη συμμετοχή των βουλευτών του κόμματος που είναι οι εκλογικοί σύνδεσμοι της ΝΔ με τις 13 περιφέρειες. Το απόγευμα της Πέμπτης ο πρόεδρος της ΝΔ θα συγκαλέσει συγκέντρωση βουλευτών, πρώην βουλευτών και μελών της πολιτικής επιτροπής της Αττικής, παρουσία του Βασίλη Κικίλια και των αντιπεριφερειαρχών που έχουν ανακοινωθεί.-

*** Έρευνα σε ύποπτα κοντέινερ στον Πειραιά
Κοντέινερ που φέρονται να περιέχουν ύποπτο στρατιωτικό υλικό ερευνούν οι ελληνικές αρχές στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά, έπειτα απο σχετική πληροφορία. Τα κοντέινερ ήταν σε πλοίο που προερχόταν από τη Β. Κορέα και είχε ως προορισμό τη Συρία.
Πλοίο γαλλικής ιδιοκτησίας, το οποίο προερχόταν από τη Βόρειο Κορέα και είχε ως προορισμό το λιμάνι της Συρίας, ακινητοποίησαν εσπευσμένα οι ελληνικές αρχές στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά, έπειτα από σημαντική πληροφορία ότι μεταφέρει κοντέινερ με ύποπτο υλικό που προορίζεται για στρατιωτική χρήση. Το φορτίο του πλοίου έχει δεσμευτεί και ο χώρος είναι αποκλεισμένος προκειμένου να ερευνηθούν τα κοντέινερ και να διαπιστωθεί εάν όντως είναι αληθής η πληροφορία. Τα κοντέινερ είναι σφραγισμένα και για να ανοιχθούν αναμένεται να χρησιμοποιηθεί ειδικό συνεργείο των ελληνικών αρχών. Μετά την έρευνα οι αρμόδιες αρχές θα εκδώσουν πόρισμα.-

*** Αποπροσανατολιστικά τα σενάρια περί Λας Βέγκας στο Ελληνικό
«Η ανάπλαση στο χώρο του παλιού αεροδρομίου στο Ελληνικό θα σχεδιαστεί με στόχο την αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής», δήλωσε ο Χ. Παμπούκης προσθέτοντας ότι όσα ακούγονται περί «ανάπτυξης τύπου Λας Βέγκας» στερούνται σοβαρότητας.
Ο υπουργός Επικρατείας, αρμόδιος για τις επενδύσεις, Χ. Παμπούκης, αναφερόμενος στα δημοσιεύματα για την αξιοποίηση του χώρου του Ελληνικού, και τα περί «ανάπτυξης τύπου Λας Βέγκας», τόνισε ότι τα σενάρια αυτά στερούνται σοβαρότητας και λειτουργούν αποπροσανατολιστικά.Ο κ. Παμπούκης υπογράμμισε ότι «η ανάπλαση στο χώρο του παλιού αεροδρομίου στο Ελληνικό θα σχεδιαστεί λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις περιβαλλοντικές ευαισθησίες του ελληνικού λαού, με στόχο την αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής των κατοίκων του Λεκανοπεδίου».«Όλες οι παρεμβάσεις που θα υλοποιηθούν είναι ενταγμένες στο στρατηγικό πλαίσιο ανάπτυξης που έχει εξαγγείλει ο Πρωθυπουργός και απόλυτα εναρμονισμένες με τη συνολική αισθητική φυσιογνωμία του ελληνικού τοπίου», σημείωσε ο κ. Παμπούκης. Παράλληλα, ο υπουργός Επικρατείας, υπογράμμισε ότι «το εγχείρημα ανάπλασης του Ελληνικού, όπως και ανάλογα αναπτυξιακά έργα, προϋποθέτει διαφάνεια, υπευθυνότητα και σοβαρότητα από όλες τις δυνάμεις, ενημέρωση όλων των εμπλεκομένων πλευρών, συλλογική δουλειά και πάνω από όλα κοινωνική στήριξη και αλληλεγγύη». *** Τον Οκτώβριο η δίκη των υπαλλήλων του ΣΔΟΕ
Στα μέσα Οκτωβρίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί η δίκη των τριών υπαλλήλων του ΣΔΟΕ που είχαν ζητήσει 30.000 ευρώ για να τακτοποιήσουν φορολογική υπόθεση. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο ένας είχε συλληφθεί επ' αυτοφώρω να λαμβάνει τα χρήματα.
Περί τα μέσα Οκτωβρίου δικάζονται στο τριμελές Πλημμελειοδικείο της Κέρκυρας οι τρεις υπάλληλοι του ΣΔΟΕ, που είχαν ζητήσει από ξενοδόχο 30 χιλιάδες ευρώ, προκειμένου να καλύψουν φορολογικές του εκκρεμότητες. Και οι τρεις κατηγορούνται για εκβίαση και δωροδοκία. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο ένας είχε συλληφθεί επ' αυτοφώρω, ύστερα από συνδυασμένες ενέργειες των αρμόδιων υπηρεσιών του υπουργείου Οικονομικών και της Υπηρεσίας Εσωτερικών Υποθέσεων της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας, και στη συνέχεια κατονόμασε τους άλλους δύο υπαλλήλους.Όλοι τους είναι ελεύθεροι και τους έχει αποσταλεί κλήση για το δικαστήριο. *** Μέσω κάψουλας η διάσωση των μεταλλωρύχων
Το σχέδιο απεγκλωβισμού προβλέπει ότι κάθε εργάτης θα μπει σε μία κάψουλα ειδικά κατασκευασμένη για να χωράει ένα άτομο και θα τον ανασύρουν μέσα από τις σήραγγες που μέρες τώρα ανοίγουν τα τεράστια γεωτρύπανα.
Μια κάψουλα ειδικά κατασκευασμένη για να βοηθήσει στη διάσωση των 33 παγιδευμένων μεταλλωρύχων στο ορυχείο της Χιλής έφθασε στην περιοχή. Η κάψουλα σε μέγεθος ικανό να χωράει έναν άνθρωπο, είναι φτιαγμένη από χάλυβα και έγινε δεκτή με ενθουσιασμό από διασώστες και συγγενείς. Σύμφωνα με το σχέδιο, 30 λεπτά θα χρειαστούν για να ανέβει κάθε μεταλλωρύχος από τα 700 μέτρα που είναι εγκλωβισμένος με τη βοήθεια της κάψουλας στην επιφάνεια.Το σχέδιο απεγκλωβισμού προβλέπει ότι κάθε εργάτης θα μπει στην κάψουλα και θα τον ανασύρουν μέσα από τις σήραγγες που μέρες τώρα ανοίγουν τα τεράστια γεωτρύπανα. Αν όλα πάνε καλά οι άνθρωποι θα έχουν απελευθερωθεί μέχρι τις αρχές Νοεμβρίου. Ωστόσο, οι γιατροί που παρακολουθούν τους μεταλλωρύχους, εκφράζουν την ανησυχία τους ότι μπορεί να παρουσιάσουν μολύνσεις στα μάτια, αλλά και πίεση και μετατραυματικό στρες, όταν θα καταφέρουν να βγουν στην επιφάνεια.-
*** Διαμαρτυρία για τα δικαιώματα των σπουδαστών κατάρτισης
Να εξασφαλιστούν χωρίς όρους και προϋποθέσεις τα δωρεάν συγγράμματα και ο υλικοτεχνικός εξοπλισμός για όλους τους σπουδαστές κατάρτισης, ζήτησαν οι σύλλογοι των σπουδαστών αυτών και το ΠΑΜΕ, σε παράσταση διαμαρτυρίας στον ΟΕΕΚ.
Συγκέντρωση διαμαρτυρίας έξω από το κτίριο του Οργανισμού Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης, πραγματοποίησε το ΠΑΜΕ και σύλλογοι σπουδαστών, με αίτημα να μην πληρώσει κανένας σπουδαστής δίδακτρα και να μην φορτωθεί επιπλέον έξοδα η εργατική οικογένεια. Οι συγκεντρωμένοι ζήτησαν να εξασφαλιστούν χωρίς όρους και προϋποθέσεις τα δωρεάν συγγράμματα και ο υλικοτεχνικός εξοπλισμός για όλους τους σπουδαστές.Μάλιστα, μέσα στον Σεπτέμβριο θα πραγματοποιηθεί κοινή σύσκεψη εργατικών σωματείων και των Συλλόγων σπουδαστών για να καθοριστούν τα επόμενα βήματα.Οι Σύλλογοι Σπουδαστών της κατάρτισης και το ΠΑΜΕ διεκδικούν: -Κατάργηση των διδάκτρων στα Δημόσια ΙΕΚ. Κανένας σπουδαστής να μην αφήνει τις σπουδές του λόγω οικονομικών δυσκολιών.-Δωρεάν χορήγηση συγγραμμάτων-Κάλυψη εξόδων για αναλώσιμα-Χορήγηση μειωμένου εισιτηρίου συγκοινωνιών (ΠΑΣΟ) για όλους τους σπουδαστές-Πρακτική άσκηση πάνω στο αντικείμενο σπουδών και με κατοχυρωμένα όλα τα εργασιακά και ασφαλιστικά δικαιώματα -Δωρεάν πιστοποίηση με το πέρας των σπουδών.-
*** Θύμα εθνικιστικής επίθεσης 37χρονος ομογενής στη Χειμάρρα
Ομάδα τριών Αλβανών δολοφόνησαν την Πέμπτη 37χρονο ομογενή στη Χειμάρρα, τον οποίο απειλούσαν να μη μιλάει ελληνικά στο μαγαζί του. Για δυστύχημα κάνει λόγο η αλβανική αστυνομία, ωστόσο οι μαρτυρίες είναι παραπάνω από σαφείς.
Σε φορτισμένη ατμόσφαιρα πραγματοποιήθηκε το μεσημέρι της Παρασκευής στη Χειμάρρα η κηδεία του 37χρονου ομογενούς Αριστοτέλη Γκούμα, ο οποίος δολοφονήθηκε την Πέμπτη από ομάδα τριών Αλβανών. Σύμφωνα με αυτόπτες μάρτυρες, όλα άρχισαν πριν το μεσημέρι της Πέμπτης, όταν τρεις Αλβανοί από την Αυλώνα ζήτησαν από τον 37χρονο να μη μιλάει ελληνικά στο μαγαζί του στη Χειμάρρα. Μετά τη λογομαχία ακολούθησε ξυλοδαρμός. Ο ομογενής αναγκάστηκε να κρυφτεί. Οι τρεις Αλβανοί, όμως, τον εντόπισαν ύστερα από αρκετές ώρες, ενώ επέβαινε σε μηχανή μεγάλου κυβισμού. Οι δράστες όρμησαν με το αυτοκίνητό τους πάνω στον νεαρό άνδρα και τον καταπλάκωσαν. Κάτοικοι της πόλης, αντιδρώντας στη δολοφονία, απέκλεισαν την εθνική οδό Αγίων Σαράντα - Αυλώνα, ζητώντας από τις αρχές να αποδοθεί δικαιοσύνη, αλλά και τη λήψη μέτρων που θα οδηγήσει στην αποφυγή των άγριων εθνικιστικών ενεργειών σε βάρος των Ελλήνων κατοίκων της Χειμάρρας. Εκατοντάδες αυτοκίνητα εγκλωβίστηκαν από και προς τη Χειμάρρα. Ο εθνικός δρόμος άνοιξε μόλις το πρωί της Παρασκευής, ενώ οι κάτοικοι δηλώνουν ότι θα ξανακλείσουν το δρόμο αν δεν ληφθούν έμπρακτα μέτρα. Η Αστυνομία συνέλαβε έξι άτομα, δεν εξέδωσε ωστόσο ανακοίνωση σχετικά με τα αίτια του συμβάντος, το οποίο ο αλβανικός Τύπος χαρακτήρισε ως «δυστύχημα». Σε δηλώσεις του ο δήμαρχος Χειμάρρας Βασίλης Μπολάνος επεσήμανε ότι «πρόκειται για έγκλημα εκ προμελέτης, αφού οι δράστες από ημέρες προκαλούσαν τον δολοφονηθέντα». Ακόμη, μίλησε για ρατσιστικά φαινόμενα, τα οποία οπισθοδρομούν την αλβανική κοινωνία. Ο αρχιεπίσκοπος Αλβανίας Αναστάσιος, σε σχετική δήλωσή του, υπογράμμισε: «Με οδύνη συμμετέχω στο βαθύ πόνο που προκάλεσε η δολοφονία του Αριστοτέλη Γκούμα στη Χειμάρρα. Συλλυπούμαι ολόψυχα την οικογένειά του, δεόμενος όπως ο Θεός αναπαύσει εν ειρήνη την ψυχή του. Τέτοιες αδικαιολόγητες βίαιες πράξεις, απόλυτα καταδικαστέες από κάθε εχέφρονα, απειλούν να δυναμιτίσουν το κλίμα της αρμονικής συνυπάρξεως, για το οποίο όλοι οι σώφρονες πολίτες της Αλβανίας έχουν αγωνισθεί. Και ακόμη απειλούν να πυροδοτήσουν νέες συγκρούσεις και μίση στην περιοχή. Στην κρίσιμη αυτή στιγμή απαιτείται από κάθε υπεύθυνο, νηφαλιότητα, αποφυγή αυτοδικιών, αναζήτηση της αλήθειας και επιβολή της δικαιοσύνης. Και ακόμα επιβάλλεται να ενταθούν οι ειλικρινείς προσπάθειες για να εξασφαλιστεί ο σεβασμός της ελευθερίας κάθε πολίτη και όλων γενικώς των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων».Για απαράδεκτη εγκληματική ενέργεια κάνει λόγο το ελληνικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών μέσω του εκπροσώπου του Γρηγόρη Δελαβέκουρα: «Απαράδεκτες εγκληματικές ενέργειες όπως αυτή, έχουν σκοπό να διεγείρουν εθνοτική ένταση με απρόβλεπτες συνέπειες και να υπονομεύσουν τις διμερείς σχέσεις Ελλάδας-Αλβανίας. Πρέπει να είναι καταδικαστέες από το σύνολο της αλβανικής κοινωνίας και τους πολιτικούς εκπροσώπους της. Η αλβανική κυβέρνηση οφείλει να εγγυηθεί την ορθή και ταχεία απονομή δικαιοσύνης, η οποία θα αποτελέσει και τη μοναδική έμπρακτη απάντηση στις εύλογες ανησυχίες της Ελληνικής Εθνικής Μειονότητας». Σύμφωνα με τον κ. Δελαβέκουρα, η ελληνική πρεσβεία στα Τίρανα «ζήτησε από τις αλβανικές αρχές την πλήρη διερεύνηση των συνθηκών, υπό τις οποίες έλαβε χώρα η εγκληματική ενέργεια, τη σύλληψη των δραστών και την προσαγωγή τους στη δικαιοσύνη».«Το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών παρακολουθεί στενά και αδιάλειπτα όλα τα θέματα που αφορούν στην Ελληνική Εθνική Μειονότητα στην Αλβανία και υπογραμμίζει ότι ο σεβασμός και η προστασία των δικαιωμάτων και της ασφάλειας των μελών της μειονότητας, πέραν από αυτονόητη υποχρέωση της κυβέρνησης της Αλβανίας προς τους πολίτες της, απορρέει τόσο από το διεθνές συμβατικό δίκαιο, όσο και από το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο, την ενσωμάτωση στο οποίο επιδιώκει η Αλβανία», καταλήγει η ανακοίνωση.-
*** Τραγικό δυστύχημα στα Τρίκαλα με επτά νεκρούς
Στο 39ο χλμ της ε.ο. Λάρισας -Τρικάλων, ένα φορτηγό που οδηγούσε ένας 44χρονος και κατευθυνόταν από Τρίκαλα προς Λάρισα, συγκρούστηκε με δύο επιβατικά ΙΧ. Από τη σύγκρουση επτά άτομα σκοτώθηκαν, μεταξύ των οποίων και δύο παιδιά.
Συγκλονισμένη είναι η τοπική κοινωνία στο νομό Τρικάλων, από ένα τραγικό πολύνεκρό δυστύχημα που στοίχισε τη ζωή σε επτά ανθρώπους, στην εθνική οδό Τρικάλων -Λάρισας. Σύμφωνα με την αστυνομική διεύθυνση Τρικάλων, στο 39ο χιλιόμετρο της Εθνικής Οδού Λάρισας -Τρικάλων, ένα φορτηγό που οδηγούσε 44χρονος κάτοικος Τρικάλων και κατευθυνόταν από Τρίκαλα προς Λάρισα, συγκρούστηκε διαδοχικά με δύο επιβατικά αυτοκίνητα τα οποία κατευθυνόταν από Λάρισα προς Τρίκαλα. Αποτέλεσμα της σύγκρουσης αυτής ήταν να τραυματιστούν θανάσιμα επτά άτομα και να τραυματιστεί ελαφρά μια 32χρονη. Τα στοιχεία αναφέρουν πως στο ένα επιβατικό αυτοκίνητο επέβαιναν 5 άτομα, πατέρας, μητέρα, δύο νήπια και η νύφη του οδηγού, και στο άλλο επέβαιναν τρία άτομα νεαρής ηλικίας. Εκτός οδοστρώματος από τη σύγκρουση βρέθηκε και το φορτηγό της μοιραίας σύγκρουσης.Ο απολογισμός ήταν τρομακτικός από τη σύγκρουση όπου ξεκληρίστηκε μια οικογένεια από την Φαρκαδόνα και μια παρέα νεαρών από τα Τρίκαλα. Ειδικότερα, από το πρώτο όχημα έχουν ανασυρθεί νεκροί ο οδηγός, η νύφη του και τα δύο ανήλικα παιδιά 18 μηνών και 4,5 ετών, ενώ στο νοσοκομείο μεταφέρθηκε η σύζυγος του οδηγού. Και από το δεύτερο αυτοκίνητο τρία άτομα, 40, 24 και 26 ετών. Στο σημείο που έγινε το τραγικό συμβάν διακόπηκε για αρκετές ώρες η κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων ενώ βρέθηκαν αμέσως Πυροσβεστικές δυνάμεις με το έργο των Πυροσβεστών να συντονίζει ο Περιφερειακός Διευθυντής της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας Θεσσαλίας.Η κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων διεξαγόταν για αρκετή ώρα από παράδρομους, ενώ αυτή την ώρα διεξάγεται κανονικά. Στο νοσοκομείο νοσηλεύεται η σύζυγος του 44χρονου, ενώ στην Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση έχει μεταφερθεί ο οδηγός του φορτηγού που είναι αυτός που θα διαφωτίσει τις συνθήκες της τραγωδίας. Οι θανόντες θα μεταφερθούν στην Ιατροδικαστική Υπηρεσία Λάρισας για διενέργεια νεκροψίας-νεκροτομής. Προανάκριση για το τραγικό δυστύχημα ενεργείται από το Τμήμα Τροχαίας Τρικάλων. ***Απεργούν την Τετάρτη οι νοσοκομειακοί γιατροί
Το Γενικό Συμβούλιο της Ομοσπονδίας Ενώσεων Νοσοκομειακών Γιατρών αποφάσισε απεργία για την Τετάρτη, στο πλαίσιο της πανευρωπαϊκής ημέρας κινητοποίησης κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας που επιβάλλουν οι κυβερνήσεις στην Ευρώπη.
Σε απεργία προχωρούν την Τετάρτη οι νοσοκομειακοί γιατροί, μετά τη σχετική απόφαση που έλαβε το Γενικό Συμβούλιο της Ομοσπονδίας Ενώσεων Νοσοκομειακών Γιατρών Ελλάδας.
Η απεργία αυτή πραγματοποιείται στο πλαίσιο της πανευρωπαϊκής ημέρας κινητοποίησης κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας που επιβάλλουν οι κυβερνήσεις στην Ευρώπη.

Στον εισαγγελέα Εφετών οδηγείται σήμερα ο πρόεδρος των Ελλήνων Οικολόγων με κίνδυνο να προφυλακιστεί. Ο εκκεντρικός πρόεδρος συνελήφθη χθες το μεσημέρι αφού εδώ και μήνες εκκρεμούσε εις βάρος του ένταλμα σύλληψης.Ο Δημοσθένης Βεργής βρίσκεται σε άσχημη ψυχολογική κατάσταση. Κρατείται επειδή εκκρεμεί εις βάρος του ένταλμα σύλληψης που έχει εκδοθεί από την Εισαγγελία Εφετών Αθηνών, καθώς τον Ιούνιο του 2010 δεν εμφανίστηκε ενώπιον του ανακριτή προκειμένου να απολογηθεί για τις κατηγορίες πλαστογραφίας και απάτης που του αποδίδουν.Μετά τη σύλληψή του, ο πρόεδρος του κόμματος λόγω της κακής ψυχολογικής κατάστασης αντιμετώπισε καρδιολογικά προβλήματα κα μεταφέρθηκε στο νοσοκομείο, όπου νοσηλεύτηκε μέχρι αργά το βράδυ. Η υπόθεση σχετίζεται με την μακροχρόνια αντιδικία του Δημοσθένη Βεργή με το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο σχετικά με μια έκταση στο Μαραθώνα. Ο ίδιος ισχυρίζεται ότι του ανήκει, ενώ το Δημόσιο ισχυρίζεται ότι πρόκειται για δημόσια δασική έκταση.Πηγή: Espresso .-
***Σύλληψη 31χρονου για κατοχή όπλων

Ολόκληρο οπλοστάσιο είχε στο πατάρι του συνεργείου επισκευής μοτοσικλετών που διατηρεί ένας 31χρονος από το Καστέλλι Ηρακλείου, ο οποίος συνελήφθη ύστερα από επιχείρηση αστυνομικών του Τ.Α.Ε. Ηρακλείου.Οι αστυνομικοί ερεύνησαν το χώρο έπειτα από πληροφορίες που είχαν, και εντόπισαν και κατέσχεσαν:-Ένα αυτόματο πυροβόλο όπλο με γεμιστήρα-Ένα επαναληπτικό πολεμικό τυφέκιο, μάρκας MAUSER, κατοχικής περιόδου-Ένα επαναληπτικό πολεμικό τυφέκιο, τύπου "γκρας"-Δύο πιστόλια, μάρκας BROWNING και BERETTA αντίστοιχα, με γεμιστήρες,-Ένα χωρίς αριθμό πιστόλι, τύπου REBLICA, με γεμιστήρα-Ένα πιστόλι άγνωστης μάρκας, με κάννη - κλείστρο αποσυναρμολογημένο σε δώδεκα κομμάτια και γεμιστήρα-Δύο περίστροφα αγνώστου μάρκας-Ένα δίκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, μάρκας BAIKAL,-Ένα κυνηγετικό όπλο, καραμπίνα, μάρκας L. FRANCHI, με κομμένη κάννη, που περιείχε πέντε κυνηγετικά φυσίγγια-Ένα μονόκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, μάρκας ZYGLIN,-Ένα μονόκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, αγνώστων στοιχείων-Ένα πιστόλι κρότου αερίου, μάρκας ZORAKI, με δύο γεμιστήρες-Ένα πιστόλι ρίψης φωτοβολίδων, αγνώστου μάρκας-Δεκαπέντε τεμάχια ανταλλακτικών κυνηγετικού όπλου-Μια κάννη κυνηγετικού όπλου-Μια βάση κυνηγετικού όπλου, άγνωστης μάρκας, χωρίς τον μηχανισμό της σκανδάλης-Ένα σπαθί με θήκη, με μήκος λεπίδας 26 cm και συνολικού μήκους 44 cm-Οκτώ θήκες πιστολιών - περιστρόφων δερμάτινες, η μία απ τις οποίες είναι υφασμάτινη- Συνολικά 1.058 φυσίγγια διαφόρων διαμετρημάτων-Ένα μαρμάρινο χέρι αγάλματος άγνωστης προέλευσηςΟ 31χρονος αναμένεται να οδηγηθεί σήμερα στον Εισαγγελέα Πλημμελειοδικών Ηρακλείου. -
*** Ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης ζητά ο Μπερλουσκόνι
Διάγγελμα προς τον ιταλικό λαό θα απευθύνει το πρωί της Τετάρτης ο Ιταλός πρωθυπουργός Σίλβιο Μπερλουσκόνι και αμέσως μετά θα ζητήσει ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης, ώστε να επιβεβαιώσει τη σταθερότητα της κυβέρνησής του.
Ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης για την κυβέρνησή του θα ζητήσει την Τετάρτη ο Ιταλός πρωθυπουργός Σίλβιο Μπερλουσκόνι, έπειτα από το διάγγελμα που αναμένεται να απευθύνει το πρωί της ίδιας ημέρας για τη σκοπούμενη πολιτική, όπως ανακοίνωσε την Τρίτη ο υπουργός σχέσεων με το Κοινοβούλιο Έλιο Βίτο. «Θα καταθέσουμε πρόταση εμπιστοσύνης» τόνισε ο Βίτο μετά την σύνοδο των ηγετικών στελεχών του κόμματος Λαός της Ελευθερίας (PDL) του Μπερλουσκόνι, κατά την οποία εξετάστηκε η παρέμβαση του Καβαλιέρε στη Βουλή. Ο Καβαλιέρε, που δοκιμάζεται από τις εσωτερικές διαμάχες στο δεξιό στρατόπεδο, με αυτή του την κίνηση διέψευσε τον ιταλικό Τύπο που προδίκαζε ότι δεν επρόκειτο να καταθέσει την πρόταση και να αναλάβει τον κίνδυνο να πέσει η κυβέρνησή του σε περίπτωση που καταψηφιστεί. Ο εκπρόσωπος του Μπερλουσκόνι Πάολο Μποναϊούτι επιβεβαίωσε τις πληροφορίες, ανακοινώνοντας την σύγκληση «αύριο (σ.σ. Τετάρτη) το πρωί υπουργικού συμβουλίου για την κατάθεση της πρότασης εμπιστοσύνης». Το συμβούλιο αναμένεται να δώσει, χωρίς αναμενόμενα προβλήματα και επισήμως την έγκρισή του στην απόφαση του Μπερλουσκόνι. Ο πρωθυπουργός είχε ανακοινώσει τον Αύγουστο πως θα κατέθετε την πρόταση για να επιβεβαιώσει τη σταθερότητα της κοινοβουλευτικής του πλειοψηφίας, έπειτα από την αποχώρηση στις 30 Ιουλίου του Τζανφράνκο Φίνι μαζί με 34 βουλευτές και 10 Γερουσιαστές από το PDL - με τον οποίο είχε συνιδρύσει το κόμμα - για να ιδρύσει το δικό του κόμμα (Μέλλον και Ελευθερία για την Ιταλία), αλλά η απόφαση αυτή δεν είχε επιβεβαιωθεί έως σήμερα.-

Εντόι:"Έχω ξεχάσει τον Παναθηναϊκό"
Ο Νταμ Εντόι εδώ και 20 μήνες διαπρέπει με τα χρώματα της Κοπεγχάγης. Το πέρασμα του από τον Παναθηναϊκό του αφήνει πικρή γεύση κυρίως για τον τρόπο που αποχώρησε. Ο Σενεγαλέζος δηλώνει στο Sport24.gr πιο ώριμος από ποτέ τονίζοντας πως δεν σημαίνει κάτι ξεχωριστό το γεγονός πως αύριο θα τεθεί αντιμέτωπος με την πρώην ομάδα του.
Ο Εντόι μίλησε στον συνάδελφο Νιλς Χάνσεν για την ποδοσφαιρική εξέλιξη του από τη μέρα που εγκατέλειψε την Κρήτη και τον ΟΦΗ.
"Έχω εξελιχθεί από τότε. Είχα έρθει από την Ελλάδα στην Κοπεγχάγη. Πνευματικά είμαι πιο ώριμος. Το ποδόσφαιρο πάντα ήταν η ζωή μου και νομίζω είμαι πιο υπεύθυνος. Παίζω για την ομάδα, παίρνω περισσότερες πρωτοβουλίες και δουλεύω σκληρά προκειμένου να νικάμε. Δεν μπορώ να κερδίζω μόνος μου, αλλά μπορώ να παίξω για την ομάδα και να την βοηθήσω να φτάσει σε επιτυχίες. Για να κερδίζουμε όμως θα πρέπει να αναλαμβάνω περισσότερες ευθύνες από ότι συνέβαινε στο παρελθόν". Ο Εντόι ξεκαθαρίζει πως δεν έχει καμία σημασία το γεγονός πως θα αντιμετωπίσει την πρώην ομάδα του, τον Παναθηναϊκό."Δεν σημαίνει τίποτα για μένα επειδή θα παίξουμε κόντρα στον Παναθηναϊκό. Δεν τον σκέφτομαι πλέον. Τα έχω ξεχάσει όλα" σημειώνει μάλλον πικραμένος εξηγώντας τους λόγους..."Βρίσκομαι σε άλλο σύλλογο τώρα. Ακόμη όμως δεν έχω ιδέα τι πήγε στραβά εκεί και δεν θέλω να το σκέφτομαι πλέον. Δεν θα πάω για να δείξω σε κάποιον κάτι. Δουλεύω για να καλυτερεύω αλλά και να βοηθάω την ομάδα. Θα κάνω το καλύτερο για μένα και την ομάδα μου για να κερδίζουμε σε κάθε παιχνίδι ανεξάρτητα από το όνομα του αντιπάλου". Στον Τύπο της Δανίας φιλοξενούνται δημοσιεύματα σύμφωνα με τα οποία ο Αφρικανός άσος βρίσκεται στα ραντάρ συλλόγων της Μπουντεσλίγκα. "Είμαι χαρούμενος που η Κοπεγχάγη πίστεψε με σε μένα και τώρα θέλω να τους το ξεπληρώσω. Εϊναι υπέροχο να βρίσκομαι εδώ και να μαθαίνω κάθε μέρα. Όπως είπα βελτιώνομαι εγκεφαλικά αλλά και ποδοσφαιρικά καθημερινά".Ο Εντόι δεν απέφυγε να ρίξει τις σπόντες του και για τον Χενκ Τεν Κάτε, θεωρώντας τον αποκλειστικά υπεύθυνο για τον παραγκωνισμό του από τον Παναθηναϊκό. "Δεν ξέρω ποιο ήταν το πρόβλημα. Είναι ένας περίεργος προπονητής. Λέει ένα πράγμα και κάνει κάτι άλλο. Δεν ήταν καλή εμπειρία. Δεν με είχε δει να παίζω παραπάνω από 45 λεπτά σε ένα φιλικό και όλα τελείωσαν. Βρέθηκα εκτός ομάδας και έπρεπε να προπονηθώ ατομικά". Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι ο Εντόι βρίσκεται σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση. Σκόραρε το μοναδικό γκολ της Κοπεγχάγης στη νίκη επί της Ρούμπιν Καζάν στην πρεμιέρα των ομίλων του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ, ενώ βρήκε δίχτυα και το περασμένο Σάββατο στο ματς πρωταθλήματος κόντρα στη Μίντιλαντ (3-0).-
*** Παίκτης του ΠΑΟ ούρησε στη φυσούνα!
Πρόστιμο επιβλήθηκε από την UEFA σε παίκτη του Παναθηναϊκού, επειδή ούρησε μέσα στη φυσούνα του "Καμπ Νόου" κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα με την Μπαρτσελόνα για την 1η αγωνιστική του Champions League.
Το περιστατικό, το οποίο αποκαλύπτεται από την ισπανική εφημερίδα "El Mundo Deportivo", συνέβη στα τελευταία λεπτά της αναμέτρησης, όταν ο παίκτης, λίγο πριν αντικαταστήσει ένα συμπαίκτη του, ένιωσε την ανάγκη να ουρήσει, πιθανότατα λόγω άγχους και εκνευρισμού.
Από ένστικτο κατέβηκε τις σκάλες που οδηγούσαν στη φυσούνα και προσπάθησε να βρει τις κοντινότερες τουαλέτες ώστε να ανακουφιστεί. Ωστόσο, οι τουαλέτες και τα αποδυτήρια ήταν κλειστά κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα. Μη γνωρίζοντας ισπανικά, δεν κατάφερε να συνεννοηθεί με κάποιον από τους υπαλλήλους που βρίσκονταν εκεί και αποφάσισε να κάνει την ανάγκη του δημόσια και συγκεκριμένα μέσα στη φυσούνα.Ο εκπρόσωπος της UEFA στην αναμέτρηση, ο Βέλγος Ρόμπερτ Στερκς, έμαθε το περιστατικό και το πρόστιμο επιβλήθηκε από την πειθαρχική επιτροπή της UEFA την περασμένη Πέμπτη. Το ποσό μπορεί να φτάσει μέχρι και τις 5.000 ευρώ Ωστόσο, το όνομά του δεν διέρρευσε από την ευρωπαϊκή ομοσπονδία.Από την πλευρά του Παναθηναϊκού υπήρξε απάντηση, που ανέφερε πως πρωταγωνιστής του περιστατικού ήταν ο Γιώργος Καραγκούνης, ο οποίος ούρησε κανονικά στις τουαλέτες που διαθέτει η φυσούνα του γηπέδου, αλλά καθυστέρησε την αλλαγή, με συνέπεια να του επιβληθεί πρόστιμο.Στο παρελθόν έχουν ξανασυμβεί παρόμοια περιστατικά, όταν για παράδειγμα ο Γενς Λέμαν, στο Στουτγκάρδη-Ουνιρέα, και πάλι για το Champions League, είχε αφήσει το τέρμα του και πήγε να ουρήσει πίσω από μία διαφημιστική πινακίδα. Τότε είχε τιμωρηθεί η ομάδα του με 40.000 ευρώ.-
*** Με Κατσουράνη στόπερ
Σε σκέψεις βρίσκεται ο Νίκος Νιόπλιας ενόψει της αναμέτρησης με την Κοπεγχάγη το βράδυ της Τετάρτης (29/09, 21:45), κυρίως για το πώς θα αντιμετωπίσει τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν οι "πράσινοι" στην άμυνα.
Ο Έλληνας τεχνικός, που για το συγκεκριμένο παιχνίδι θα στερηθεί των υπηρεσιών του τραυματία Σεντρίκ Καντέ, σκέφτεται να χρησιμοποιήσει στο κέντρο της άμυνας τον Κώστα Κατσουράνη.
Ο διεθνής μέσος αναμένεται να αποτελέσει παρτενέρ του Γιόσου Σαριέγκι, αφού ο Νιόπλιας έχει συνειδητοποιήσει πως ο Ζαν-Αλέν Μπουμσόνγκ δεν βρίσκεται σε καλή αγωνιστική κατάσταση και μάλλον θα προτιμήσει να τον αφήσει στον πάγκο.Άλλωστε οι Σαριέγκι-Κατσουράνης έχουν αγωνιστεί ως αμυντικό δίδυμο και κατά τη διάρκεια της περσινής αγωνιστικής περιόδου και μάλιστα κάποιες φορές απόλυτα επιτυχημένα.Σημαντικό για τον Παναθηναϊκό είναι και το γεγονός πως οι Δανοί θα αγωνιστούν με μοναδικό προωθημένο τον Νταμ Ν'Ντόι, το προσωπικό μαρκάρισμα του οποίου θα αναλάβει ο Βάσκος.Εκτός από αυτό το ενδεχόμενο, ο Νιόπλιας εξετάζει την περίπτωση να μεταφέρει στο κέντρο της άμυνας τον Ζιλμπέρτο Σίλβα, ο οποίος είχε αγωνιστεί στη συγκεκριμένη θέση στο β' ημίχρονο του αγώνα με την Καβάλα. Πάντως η περίπτωση αυτή συγκεντρώνει λιγότερες πιθανότητες.-

Ο Σωτήρης Νίνης σύμφωνα με ξένη ιστοσελίδα είναι στο Τοp-10 των κορυφαίων νεαρών παικτών του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ για την σεζόν 2010-11.
Αλλη μια τιμητική διάκριση φαίνεται πως θα ζήσει ο Σωτήρης Νίνης. Ο ΜVP του ματς με τον Πανιώνιο σύμφωνα με την ιστοσελίδα "blog.sport.co.uk" βρίσκεται ανάμεσα σε μια δεκάδα αστέρων νεαρών ποδοσφαιριστών που ενδεχωμένως να λάμψει στο Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ της φετινής χρονιάς.

Τη νίκη με 91-74 απέναντι στην Ζελέζνικ πήρε ο Παναθηναϊκός στο μπάσκετ, σε φιλικό παιχνίδι προετοιμασίας που διεξήχθη στο Βελιγράδι. Οι παίκτες του Ζέλικο Ομπράντοβιτς είχαν πολύ καλή απόδοση και ξεχώρισαν οι Τσαρτσαρής και Καλάθης.

Με τρεις απουσίες θα παραταχτεί ο Παναθηναϊκός την Τετάρτη απέναντι στην Κοπεγχάγη, στο παιχνίδι της δεύτερης αγωνιστικής των ομίλων του Champions League. Εκτός από τον Σίντνεϊ Γκοβού, ο οποίος υπέστη θλάση τρίτου βαθμού στην προπόνηση της Κυριακής και δεν θα παίξει στο μεθαυριανό ματς, νοκ-άουτ είναι και οι Γιούρκας Σεϊταρίδης, Σεντρίκ Καντέ. Ο πρώτος ένιωσε ενοχλήσεις στον τετρακέφαλο κι αποχώρησε από την προπόνηση και όπως φαίνεται θα απουσιάσει για τουλάχιστον δέκα ημέρες. Από την άλλη, ο Γάλλος αμυντικός υπέστη συντριπτικό κάταγμα στον παράμεσο του δεξιού του χεριού και θα επιστρέψει στα τέλη Οκτωβρίου.Εν τω μεταξύ, με ανακοίνωσή της η ΠΑΕ ζητάει από τον κόσμο να είναι ιδιαίτερα προσεκτικός στη διάρκεια του αγώνα με την Κοπεγχάγη: «Η ΠΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός, ενόψει του εντός έδρας αγώνα με την Κοπεγχάγη, που θα διεξαχθεί την Τετάρτη, 29 Σεπτεμβρίου, υπενθυμίζει στους φιλάθλους μας ότι η UEFA είναι ιδιαίτερα αυστηρή σε θέματα που παρεμποδίζουν την ομαλή διεξαγωγή του αγώνα (π.χ. χρήση βεγγαλικών ή και καπνογόνων, ρίψη αντικειμένων, χρήση laser) και ότι η ομάδα μας έχει τιμωρηθεί με την ποινή της διεξαγωγής ενός αγώνα κεκλεισμένων των θυρών με αναστολή. Αυτό σημαίνει πως η παρακολούθηση της συμπεριφοράς των φιλάθλων μας εκ μέρους της UEFA θα είναι εντατική και οποιαδήποτε παράβαση θα οδηγήσει σε τιμωρία της έδρας μας. Για το λόγο αυτό, τους καλούμε να υποστηρίξουν την ομάδα μας, αλλά και να την προστατεύσουν διατηρώντας τη συμπεριφορά τους σε αυστηρά φίλαθλα πλαίσια». -

The low inflation and low deficit fiscal criteria spelled out in the 1992 Maastricht Treaty meant that less competitive eurozone members, infamously called PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain), couldn't devalue their way out of trouble.There is a golden Fourthreichian revolving door for the movement of Eurokleptocrats between roles as legislators and regulators and the industries affected by the legislation and regulation and pullpeddlers. The old age safety net for top officials at the European institutions are also beyond imagination. After 16 years of employment for Europe, a worker qualifies for the maximum pension rate, 70 percent of the person's final salary. For most higher-ranking EU civil servants who have spent a good deal of their life working in Brussels, that means a pension of far more than €15,000 per month. It's a pension they never have to pay anything into. Anyone who can survive a five-year period in office is eligible for a pension of close to €8,000 per month.Zeus, the father of all Greek gods, fell madly in love with Europa, the daughter of a Phoenician king. Let's give people a voice – in political parties as well as in the media. But let's also try to convince them that the least important issue is what is permissible to say. The right decisions, deeds rather than words – these, in contrast, lead to the core of what is needed, for example to ensure that integration succeeds and doesn't fail, to ensure that parallel societies are prevented from developing and aren't encouraged, to ensure that youth violence is curbed and not simply accepted, to ensure that the social state helps those who need it and not those who abuse it, and much more.Politicians have failed in the past. In some cases, the right conclusions have been drawn during the last few years and this course must be continued. As so often in a democracy, this will probably cost some effort and almost certainly involve compromises. These compromises are good if the advantages outweigh the drawbacks and if the principle already mentioned is adhered to: policies represent interests based on values, both at home and abroad.First, freedom doesn't come without any strings attached. That applies to our personal life, it applies to politics, it applies to the responsibility of the media, indeed it applies to us all. Freedom always brings with it responsibility for everyone. Freedom never stands on its own, it is never an end in itself. It's a coin with two sides: on the one side there is the freedom from something and, on the other, the freedom to something. When we talk of freedom therefore, we're actually always also talking about the freedom of others. What distinguishes us in and is how we deal with our diversity, our freedom and the freedom of others. We Germans and Europeans have learned in the course of our history to make the most of diversity. The quality which enables us to do that is tolerance.Second, tolerance is a demanding virtue. It makes demands on our hearts and minds. But it's not to be confused with a failure to take a stand or an "anything goes" attitude. It has never left room for intolerance, for violence from either left or right-wing extremists or for violence in the name of a religion. Tolerance digs its own grave if it doesn't protect itself from intolerance. Freedom of religion doesn't mean that, in case of doubt, the Sharia takes precedence over the Basic Law. Tolerance doesn't mean looking the other way or applying double standards. And respect doesn't mean submission.Third, freedom in responsibility – that also applies to business. A social market economy based on freedom offers the scope which allows people to act responsibly. The painful lesson we learned from the financial and economic crisis must be taken to heart by everyone. Since the days of Ludwig Erhard, the state has been the guardian of our social market economy.Fourth, the secret of freedom is courage. This quote from Thucydides is just as relevant today as it was in the 5th century BC. To live freedom requires courage, again and again each and every day, in both trivial and important matters: when a teenager no longer takes part in bullying a classmate and risks being excluded and marginalized, when a manager is no longer prepared to be involved in dodgy practices in his company and jeopardizes his career, when in a dictatorship people strive to be able to look at themselves in the mirror every day. Wolf Biermann once defended the so‑called rebellious scaredy-cats. Biermann used this expression to describe those in the GDR who closed their windows and drew their curtains before listening to a record by a musician frowned upon by the state. Such a person was showing resistance, Biermann stated, even if it was only resistance to his own faint-heartedness. And he was right: courage begins with overcoming one's own faint-heartedness. I'm certain that each and every one of us has experienced something like this, even those who didn't live in the GDR.Fifth, freedom is challenged by the seemingly endless possibilities of the digital revolution. I, too, am fascinated by the possibilities of the World Wide Web. Nevertheless, you won't find any photos of my last birthday party on the Internet – at least not any I put there. But seriously, I'm concerned about how willing people are to give up their privacy, the sanctuary of individual freedom, and publish sensitive personal data on the Internet. I'm at a complete loss to understand this when I recall the heated debates in about the video surveillance of public areas or a census. We politicians and the media need to raise awareness and, indeed, to educate people so that they deal with freedom more responsibly in this sphere.Sixth, our foreign policy is also based on values. I'm concerned about the abuse of freedom and tolerance by dictatorships and autocratic states. Let me remind you, for example, of the third UN Conference against Racism held in 2001. Unfortunately, this Conference and its follow‑up meetings were dominated by representatives of dictatorships and states under authoritarian rule and that turned the original idea behind these conferences on its head.In these contexts, we are often asked: isn't it a sign of cultural, Western, European and Christian arrogance that we believe our values and civil liberties are universally valid? My answer is clear: no, this isn't arrogance on our part. Nearly all states are members of the United Nations and have recognized the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration's 30 great articles make it clear that anyone infringing on these rights doesn't have the welfare of humankind at heart. No cultural difference can justify disregard for these rights.I'm convinced that if we stand up for our values with self-confidence, we will gain more respect and recognition around the world than if we do so timorously. Basil Venitis points out your soul needs to resonate with mighty words and unique acts that express your style and destiny. Your government cannot dictate your language, your words, and your culture. Resonate now and sing your song!Venitis asserts that you own your body and your soul, and nobody should dictate what you take in and what you take out. On 28 September 2002 Freedom of Information organizations from various countries around the globe meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, created a network of Freedom of Information Advocates(FOIA Network) and agreed to collaborate in promotion of the individual right of access to information and open, transparent governance. The group of FOI Advocates also proposed that 28 September be nominated as International Right to Know Day in order to symbolize the global movement for promotion of the right to information. The aim of having a Right to Know Day is to raise awareness of the right to information. It is a day on which freedom of information activists from around the world can use further to promote this fundamental human right and to campaign for open, democratic societies in which there is full citizen empowerment and participation in government. The right of access to information is an important human right, necessary for the enjoyment of other human rights. The right to information is essential for transparent and accountable government. The right of access to information makes possible the public involvement in formulating social policies and in the decision-making processes of governance. The right to information can only be effectively exercised and implemented on the basis of laws, regulating this right in accordance with international standards.On the occasion of the International Right to Know Day, the European Ombudsman, Nikiforos Diamandouros, has called on the EU administration to be as transparent and citizen-friendly as possible. Speaking in an event he co-organised with Transparency International in Brussels, entitled "Transparency at the EU level and in the Member States", he pointed out that only if European citizens feel that the EU administration is transparent, accessible and accountable, will they develop the necessary trust and willingness actively to participate in the democratic life of the Union.Basil Venitis muses that Transparency International(TI) kowtows to kleptocrats for consulting fees. TI Chair, Huguette Labelle, La Belle de Jour, TI chairwoman, rubs shoulders with kleptocrats, begging for fees! TI has deteriorated to a spindoctor of kleptocrats! TI itself is not transparent, but translucent, transformed to Translucency International! More than one third of the Ombudsman's inquiries concern complaints about lack of transparency in the EU administration. Such complaints concern, for example, access to information or documents, the composition of working groups, or the institutions' policy making.Diamandouros stressed the Lisbon Treaty provides for greater transparency in the activities of the EU administration. It requires the Council to meet in public when it deliberates on draft legislation and contains the citizens' right of access to documents of all EU institutions, bodies, offices and agencies, including, for the first time, the European Council. The Treaty also requires the EU administration to conduct its work as openly as possible, in order to promote good governance and the participation of civil society. Diamandouros is committed to informing citizens about their right to know what the EU administration is doing.The Ombudsman also receives an increasing number of complaints that raise ethical concerns. They range from the question of what gifts EU officials may accept to the issue of revolving doors whereby former Commissioners or EU officials move to the private sector thereby running the risk of creating conflicts of interest. With a view to identifying best practices with regard to the fundamental ethical principles that should apply to EU officials, the Ombudsman recently launched a consultation with the national ombudsmen in the Member States.Venitis asserts kleptocrats are absolutely shameless in trying to protect themselves and their colleagues from legitimate inquiry into their activities. Even though parliaments have passed a number of whistle-blower statutes to protect employees from retaliation when reporting the misdeeds of their superiors, the staff of parliaments, precisely the people who are most likely to know about political corruption, enjoy no such protection.Kleprocrats have repeatedly tried to find constitutional ways of limiting the free speech of real and potential opponents. If there is a philosophical Atlas who carries the whole of Western civilization on his shoulders, it is Aristotle. He has been opposed, misinterpreted, misrepresented, and—like an axiom — used by his enemies in the very act of denying him. Whatever intellectual progress men have achieved rests on his achievements.Aristotle may be regarded as the cultural barometer of Western history. Whenever his influence dominated the scene, it paved the way for one of history's brilliant eras; whenever it fell, so did mankind. The Aristotelian revival of the thirteenth century brought men to the Renaissance. The intellectual counter-revolution turned them back toward the cave of his antipode: Plato.There is only one fundamental issue in philosophy: the cognitive efficacy of man's mind. The conflict of Aristotle versus Plato is the conflict of reason versus mysticism. It was Plato who formulated most of philosophy's basic questions — and doubts. It was Aristotle who laid the foundation for most of the answers. Thereafter, the record of their duel is the record of man's long struggle to deny and surrender or to uphold and assert the validity of his particular mode of consciousness.Basil Venitis points out Plato and Aristotle asserted that different regimes produce different types of human beings, and regimes ought to be judged by the character of their citizens. In Europe, the growth of interventionist welfare state has damaged personal responsibility and integrity, fostered dependence, undermined families, rejected venitism, and promoted corruption. Especially in Greece, the most corrupt country on Earth, Graecokleptocracy is accepted as a normal thing, and most Greeks rely on graft, sinecures, cheating, incivility, cacodemony, cancer of socialism, jingoism, religionism, lies, and kickbacks. The character of modern Greece of the 300 Graecokleptocrats is the opposite of the character of ancient Greece of the 300 Spartans of Leonidas. The Achilles Heel of the national character is licensure. Venitis asserts that all licenses should be abolished, including doctors, lawyers, and marriage. Licensure is an immoral exercise of force, an overly burdensome restraint on trade, a violation of the right to liberty, a mill of kickbacks. Government is a guarantor of liberty and is compatible with liberty only if its range is adequately restricted to the preservation of economic freedom. One of the many reasons why government licensure is incompatible with liberty, therefore, is because it is destructive of economic freedom. No other nation demands more licenses than Greece. Anyone has the natural right to pursue any means of providing for himself so long as in doing so he does not act fraudulently or otherwise violate the rights of others. The State mandated license turns the free market upside down. It prohibits everyone from producing in a given industry except for those who are granted the privilege of doing so by the State, especially those who provide huge kickbacks to kleptocrats. The State, in such a misery, absorbs all individual rights unto itself and then divvies up some of those rights in any number of ways that increase the flow of kickbacks. Under a licensing system, such as we have today, if someone attempts to exercise his natural right to provide for himself without the state's nod of approval, which usually comes with kickbacks, that person goes to jail. Imprisonment for supporting oneself in an honest and non-fraudulent manner which does not infringe on the rights of others just doesn't seem right. Preemptive protection is offensive in nature, and therefore, is itself a violation of natural rights. In a free society, it is only after fraud or another violation of rights takes place that the state has the right to intervene on behalf of the consumer. By means of the licensure power, the State can permit the individual to eat or it can condemn him to starve, unless he gives kickbacks to kleptocrats. So long as the government has the power to issue licenses to live, we cannot claim to be free, and living without freedom is not much of a life. Fortunately, we still have a license to kill unsound and coercive government measures, so let us use that license to regain our right to live. Greece requires more licenses than any other country. For anything you do in Greece, you have to take permission from the government, a bureaucratic task that requires filling myriad papers. It's impossible to fill all these papers accurately. That's why Greeks either give up or give kickbacks to public employees to accept incomplete piles of papers. As the Latin expression puts it, Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? This is a phrase from the Roman poet Juvenal, which is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves?" It is also sometimes rendered as "Who watches the watchmen?" In Greece, the watchers of watchmen are all corrupt!Venitis points out Greeks, robbed at gunpoint by Graecokleptocrats, survive by schemes, fraud, sinecures, and mugging each other. Rousfeti means expensive political favors, which pervade everything from hiring public employees to property deals. Tax evaders and law breakers receive visits from officials eager to collect kickbacks. In return for leaving the guilty untouched, officials receive fakelaki, envelope containing bribe in cash. If you do not present Gregory, you will have to come back to IKA months later to answer the same question. If Gregory is not fat enough, the IKA surgeon might pseudoforget his scissors inside you! This week marked six months since Congress passed the healthcare reform bill in what has become all-too-typical legislative chicanery. Those in power crafted a mammoth piece of legislation and rammed it through Congress under a dire sense of emergency. Insisting on time enough to read the bill was dismissed as dangerous and crazy in a time of crisis. We were told that if we really wanted to see what was in the bill, we would have to pass it first. I cannot imagine the founding fathers intended for Congress to legislate in this manner. I would think if a Member is not absolutely certain the entire legislation meets Constitutional muster, the default vote should be "no" in accordance with our oath of office. But now that Congress has had six months to read the new law, there is a significant amount of buyer's remorse on Capitol Hill. The more constituents learn about the law, the more angry they become. 60% of Americans are now said to be in favor of repealing the entire thing. Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to repeal a law than to pass a bill. I wrote a while back about the egregious provision to require businesses to issue 1099s for all transactions over $600 as a way to partially pay for it. I have cosponsored legislation to fix this issue, yet this is just the tip of the iceberg. First of all, in spite of the administration repeating over and over that this legislation would not increase costs for Americans, they are now saying they knew all along that it would. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that American families will see their premiums rise by an average of $2100 by 2016. The Wall Street Journal has reported that the cost of compliance is forcing some insurers to increase premiums by up to 20% as soon as next year! Also, in spite of repeated claims from the administration that we could all keep our plans and doctors if we liked them, the administration's own officials are now predicting that won't be true for up to 117 million Americans who will lose their current plans. Major insurers are also dropping child-only plans because of mandates and price-fixing on such policies, leaving parents with fewer choices for their children, not more. In addition, in spite of claiming this law would contain government costs, not increase them, administration actuaries now predict it will increase healthcare spending by over $300 billion. This additional spending comes along with doctor shortages, fewer choices and more taxes. Perhaps worst of all, increases in labor costs because of health insurance mandates are discouraging employers from hiring new workers and even triggering more layoffs. Anyone with a basic understanding of venitism could have predicted the unintended consequences of these new healthcare policies. Central planning never increases choices and quality or cuts costs as promised. Price controls and government mandates always create artificial scarcity. Healthcare is not a right, nor a privilege. It is a product, like food or clothing. As with any good or service, the free market regulation of supply and demand provides the optimum quality to the maximum number of people. Once we realize the problems we are trying to solve today were created by government intervention beginning in the 1960's, we can begin to put patients and doctors back in control of healthcare, rather than third party oligopolies and government bureaucrats. Τον πρώην βουλευτή και γραμματέα Συνδικαλισμού της Νέας Δημοκρατίας Γιάννη Μανώλη επέλεξε ο Αντώνης Σαμαράς για υποψήφιο αντιπεριφερειάρχη στις αυτοδιοικητικές εκλογές του Νοεμβρίου στο ψηφοδέλτιο του Βασίλη Κικίλια.
Υποψήφιος αντιπεριφερειάρχης με τον συνδυασμό του Βασίλη Κικίλια στην Αττική θα είναι ο πρώην βουλευτής Γιάννης Μανώλης. Όπως αναφέρεται σε ανακοίνωση της ΝΔ, «μετά τη συνάντηση, που είχε με τον πρόεδρο της Νέας Δημοκρατίας Αντώνη Σαμαρά, ανακοινώνεται ότι ο γραμματέας Συνδικαλισμού της ΝΔ Γιάννης Μανώλης (πρώην βουλευτής και γραμματέας της ΓΣΕΕ) θα είναι υποψήφιος αντιπεριφερειάρχης Κεντρικού Τομέα στο ψηφοδέλτιο της Περιφέρειας Αττικής υπό τον Βασίλη Κικίλια».Εξάλλου, το απόγευμα σήμερα συνεδριάζει η εκτελεστική γραμματεία της ΝΔ υπό την προεδρία του Αντώνη Σαμαρά, με τη συμμετοχή των βουλευτών του κόμματος που είναι οι εκλογικοί σύνδεσμοι της ΝΔ με τις 13 περιφέρειες. *** Έρευνα σε ύποπτα κοντέινερ στον Πειραιά
Κοντέινερ που φέρονται να περιέχουν ύποπτο στρατιωτικό υλικό ερευνούν οι ελληνικές αρχές στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά, έπειτα απο σχετική πληροφορία. Τα κοντέινερ ήταν σε πλοίο που προερχόταν από τη Β. Κορέα και είχε ως προορισμό τη Συρία.
Πλοίο γαλλικής ιδιοκτησίας, το οποίο προερχόταν από τη Βόρειο Κορέα και είχε ως προορισμό το λιμάνι της Συρίας, ακινητοποίησαν εσπευσμένα οι ελληνικές αρχές στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά, έπειτα από σημαντική πληροφορία ότι μεταφέρει κοντέινερ με ύποπτο υλικό που προορίζεται για στρατιωτική χρήση. Το φορτίο του πλοίου έχει δεσμευτεί και ο χώρος είναι αποκλεισμένος προκειμένου να ερευνηθούν τα κοντέινερ και να διαπιστωθεί εάν όντως είναι αληθής η πληροφορία. Τα κοντέινερ είναι σφραγισμένα και για να ανοιχθούν αναμένεται να χρησιμοποιηθεί ειδικό συνεργείο των ελληνικών αρχών. Μετά την έρευνα οι αρμόδιες αρχές θα εκδώσουν πόρισμα.-

«Η ανάπλαση στο χώρο του παλιού αεροδρομίου στο Ελληνικό θα σχεδιαστεί με στόχο την αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής», δήλωσε ο Χ. Παμπούκης προσθέτοντας ότι όσα ακούγονται περί «ανάπτυξης τύπου Λας Βέγκας» στερούνται σοβαρότητας.
Ο υπουργός Επικρατείας, αρμόδιος για τις επενδύσεις, Χ. Παμπούκης, αναφερόμενος στα δημοσιεύματα για την αξιοποίηση του χώρου του Ελληνικού, και τα περί «ανάπτυξης τύπου Λας Βέγκας», τόνισε ότι τα σενάρια αυτά στερούνται σοβαρότητας και λειτουργούν αποπροσανατολιστικά.Ο κ. Παμπούκης υπογράμμισε ότι «η ανάπλαση στο χώρο του παλιού αεροδρομίου στο Ελληνικό θα σχεδιαστεί λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις περιβαλλοντικές ευαισθησίες του ελληνικού λαού, με στόχο την αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής των κατοίκων του Λεκανοπεδίου».«Όλες οι παρεμβάσεις που θα υλοποιηθούν είναι ενταγμένες στο στρατηγικό πλαίσιο ανάπτυξης που έχει εξαγγείλει ο Πρωθυπουργός και απόλυτα εναρμονισμένες με τη συνολική αισθητική φυσιογνωμία του ελληνικού τοπίου», σημείωσε ο κ. Παμπούκης. Παράλληλα, ο υπουργός Επικρατείας, υπογράμμισε ότι «το εγχείρημα ανάπλασης του Ελληνικού, όπως και ανάλογα αναπτυξιακά έργα, προϋποθέτει διαφάνεια, υπευθυνότητα και σοβαρότητα από όλες τις δυνάμεις, ενημέρωση όλων των εμπλεκομένων πλευρών, συλλογική δουλειά και πάνω από όλα κοινωνική στήριξη και αλληλεγγύη». *** Τον Οκτώβριο η δίκη των υπαλλήλων του ΣΔΟΕ
Στα μέσα Οκτωβρίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί η δίκη των τριών υπαλλήλων του ΣΔΟΕ που είχαν ζητήσει 30.000 ευρώ για να τακτοποιήσουν φορολογική υπόθεση. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο ένας είχε συλληφθεί επ' αυτοφώρω να λαμβάνει τα χρήματα.
Περί τα μέσα Οκτωβρίου δικάζονται στο τριμελές Πλημμελειοδικείο της Κέρκυρας οι τρεις υπάλληλοι του ΣΔΟΕ, που είχαν ζητήσει από ξενοδόχο 30 χιλιάδες ευρώ, προκειμένου να καλύψουν φορολογικές του εκκρεμότητες. Και οι τρεις κατηγορούνται για εκβίαση και δωροδοκία. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο ένας είχε συλληφθεί επ' αυτοφώρω, ύστερα από συνδυασμένες ενέργειες των αρμόδιων υπηρεσιών του υπουργείου Οικονομικών και της Υπηρεσίας Εσωτερικών Υποθέσεων της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας, και στη συνέχεια κατονόμασε τους άλλους δύο υπαλλήλους.Όλοι τους είναι ελεύθεροι και τους έχει αποσταλεί κλήση για το δικαστήριο. *** Μέσω κάψουλας η διάσωση των μεταλλωρύχων
Το σχέδιο απεγκλωβισμού προβλέπει ότι κάθε εργάτης θα μπει σε μία κάψουλα ειδικά κατασκευασμένη για να χωράει ένα άτομο και θα τον ανασύρουν μέσα από τις σήραγγες που μέρες τώρα ανοίγουν τα τεράστια γεωτρύπανα.
Μια κάψουλα ειδικά κατασκευασμένη για να βοηθήσει στη διάσωση των 33 παγιδευμένων μεταλλωρύχων στο ορυχείο της Χιλής έφθασε στην περιοχή. Η κάψουλα σε μέγεθος ικανό να χωράει έναν άνθρωπο, είναι φτιαγμένη από χάλυβα και έγινε δεκτή με ενθουσιασμό από διασώστες και συγγενείς. Σύμφωνα με το σχέδιο, 30 λεπτά θα χρειαστούν για να ανέβει κάθε μεταλλωρύχος από τα 700 μέτρα που είναι εγκλωβισμένος με τη βοήθεια της κάψουλας στην επιφάνεια.Το σχέδιο απεγκλωβισμού προβλέπει ότι κάθε εργάτης θα μπει στην κάψουλα και θα τον ανασύρουν μέσα από τις σήραγγες που μέρες τώρα ανοίγουν τα τεράστια γεωτρύπανα. Αν όλα πάνε καλά οι άνθρωποι θα έχουν απελευθερωθεί μέχρι τις αρχές Νοεμβρίου. Ωστόσο, οι γιατροί που παρακολουθούν τους μεταλλωρύχους, εκφράζουν την ανησυχία τους ότι μπορεί να παρουσιάσουν μολύνσεις στα μάτια, αλλά και πίεση και μετατραυματικό στρες, όταν θα καταφέρουν να βγουν στην επιφάνεια.-
*** Διαμαρτυρία για τα δικαιώματα των σπουδαστών κατάρτισης
Να εξασφαλιστούν χωρίς όρους και προϋποθέσεις τα δωρεάν συγγράμματα και ο υλικοτεχνικός εξοπλισμός για όλους τους σπουδαστές κατάρτισης, ζήτησαν οι σύλλογοι των σπουδαστών αυτών και το ΠΑΜΕ, σε παράσταση διαμαρτυρίας στον ΟΕΕΚ.
Συγκέντρωση διαμαρτυρίας έξω από το κτίριο του Οργανισμού Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης, πραγματοποίησε το ΠΑΜΕ και σύλλογοι σπουδαστών, με αίτημα να μην πληρώσει κανένας σπουδαστής δίδακτρα και να μην φορτωθεί επιπλέον έξοδα η εργατική οικογένεια. Οι συγκεντρωμένοι ζήτησαν να εξασφαλιστούν χωρίς όρους και προϋποθέσεις τα δωρεάν συγγράμματα και ο υλικοτεχνικός εξοπλισμός για όλους τους σπουδαστές.Μάλιστα, μέσα στον Σεπτέμβριο θα πραγματοποιηθεί κοινή σύσκεψη εργατικών σωματείων και των Συλλόγων σπουδαστών για να καθοριστούν τα επόμενα βήματα.Οι Σύλλογοι Σπουδαστών της κατάρτισης και το ΠΑΜΕ διεκδικούν: -Κατάργηση των διδάκτρων στα Δημόσια ΙΕΚ. Κανένας σπουδαστής να μην αφήνει τις σπουδές του λόγω οικονομικών δυσκολιών.-Δωρεάν χορήγηση συγγραμμάτων-Κάλυψη εξόδων για αναλώσιμα-Χορήγηση μειωμένου εισιτηρίου συγκοινωνιών (ΠΑΣΟ) για όλους τους σπουδαστές-Πρακτική άσκηση πάνω στο αντικείμενο σπουδών και με κατοχυρωμένα όλα τα εργασιακά και ασφαλιστικά δικαιώματα -Δωρεάν πιστοποίηση με το πέρας των σπουδών.-
*** Θύμα εθνικιστικής επίθεσης 37χρονος ομογενής στη Χειμάρρα
Ομάδα τριών Αλβανών δολοφόνησαν την Πέμπτη 37χρονο ομογενή στη Χειμάρρα, τον οποίο απειλούσαν να μη μιλάει ελληνικά στο μαγαζί του. Για δυστύχημα κάνει λόγο η αλβανική αστυνομία, ωστόσο οι μαρτυρίες είναι παραπάνω από σαφείς.
Σε φορτισμένη ατμόσφαιρα πραγματοποιήθηκε το μεσημέρι της Παρασκευής στη Χειμάρρα η κηδεία του 37χρονου ομογενούς Αριστοτέλη Γκούμα, ο οποίος δολοφονήθηκε την Πέμπτη από ομάδα τριών Αλβανών. Σύμφωνα με αυτόπτες μάρτυρες, όλα άρχισαν πριν το μεσημέρι της Πέμπτης, όταν τρεις Αλβανοί από την Αυλώνα ζήτησαν από τον 37χρονο να μη μιλάει ελληνικά στο μαγαζί του στη Χειμάρρα. Μετά τη λογομαχία ακολούθησε ξυλοδαρμός. Ο ομογενής αναγκάστηκε να κρυφτεί. Οι τρεις Αλβανοί, όμως, τον εντόπισαν ύστερα από αρκετές ώρες, ενώ επέβαινε σε μηχανή μεγάλου κυβισμού. Οι δράστες όρμησαν με το αυτοκίνητό τους πάνω στον νεαρό άνδρα και τον καταπλάκωσαν. Κάτοικοι της πόλης, αντιδρώντας στη δολοφονία, απέκλεισαν την εθνική οδό Αγίων Σαράντα - Αυλώνα, ζητώντας από τις αρχές να αποδοθεί δικαιοσύνη, αλλά και τη λήψη μέτρων που θα οδηγήσει στην αποφυγή των άγριων εθνικιστικών ενεργειών σε βάρος των Ελλήνων κατοίκων της Χειμάρρας. Εκατοντάδες αυτοκίνητα εγκλωβίστηκαν από και προς τη Χειμάρρα. Ο εθνικός δρόμος άνοιξε μόλις το πρωί της Παρασκευής, ενώ οι κάτοικοι δηλώνουν ότι θα ξανακλείσουν το δρόμο αν δεν ληφθούν έμπρακτα μέτρα. Η Αστυνομία συνέλαβε έξι άτομα, δεν εξέδωσε ωστόσο ανακοίνωση σχετικά με τα αίτια του συμβάντος, το οποίο ο αλβανικός Τύπος χαρακτήρισε ως «δυστύχημα». Σε δηλώσεις του ο δήμαρχος Χειμάρρας Βασίλης Μπολάνος επεσήμανε ότι «πρόκειται για έγκλημα εκ προμελέτης, αφού οι δράστες από ημέρες προκαλούσαν τον δολοφονηθέντα». Ακόμη, μίλησε για ρατσιστικά φαινόμενα, τα οποία οπισθοδρομούν την αλβανική κοινωνία. Ο αρχιεπίσκοπος Αλβανίας Αναστάσιος, σε σχετική δήλωσή του, υπογράμμισε: «Με οδύνη συμμετέχω στο βαθύ πόνο που προκάλεσε η δολοφονία του Αριστοτέλη Γκούμα στη Χειμάρρα. Συλλυπούμαι ολόψυχα την οικογένειά του, δεόμενος όπως ο Θεός αναπαύσει εν ειρήνη την ψυχή του. Τέτοιες αδικαιολόγητες βίαιες πράξεις, απόλυτα καταδικαστέες από κάθε εχέφρονα, απειλούν να δυναμιτίσουν το κλίμα της αρμονικής συνυπάρξεως, για το οποίο όλοι οι σώφρονες πολίτες της Αλβανίας έχουν αγωνισθεί. Και ακόμη απειλούν να πυροδοτήσουν νέες συγκρούσεις και μίση στην περιοχή. Στην κρίσιμη αυτή στιγμή απαιτείται από κάθε υπεύθυνο, νηφαλιότητα, αποφυγή αυτοδικιών, αναζήτηση της αλήθειας και επιβολή της δικαιοσύνης. Και ακόμα επιβάλλεται να ενταθούν οι ειλικρινείς προσπάθειες για να εξασφαλιστεί ο σεβασμός της ελευθερίας κάθε πολίτη και όλων γενικώς των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων».Για απαράδεκτη εγκληματική ενέργεια κάνει λόγο το ελληνικό υπουργείο Εξωτερικών μέσω του εκπροσώπου του Γρηγόρη Δελαβέκουρα: «Απαράδεκτες εγκληματικές ενέργειες όπως αυτή, έχουν σκοπό να διεγείρουν εθνοτική ένταση με απρόβλεπτες συνέπειες και να υπονομεύσουν τις διμερείς σχέσεις Ελλάδας-Αλβανίας. Πρέπει να είναι καταδικαστέες από το σύνολο της αλβανικής κοινωνίας και τους πολιτικούς εκπροσώπους της. Η αλβανική κυβέρνηση οφείλει να εγγυηθεί την ορθή και ταχεία απονομή δικαιοσύνης, η οποία θα αποτελέσει και τη μοναδική έμπρακτη απάντηση στις εύλογες ανησυχίες της Ελληνικής Εθνικής Μειονότητας». Σύμφωνα με τον κ. Δελαβέκουρα, η ελληνική πρεσβεία στα Τίρανα «ζήτησε από τις αλβανικές αρχές την πλήρη διερεύνηση των συνθηκών, υπό τις οποίες έλαβε χώρα η εγκληματική ενέργεια, τη σύλληψη των δραστών και την προσαγωγή τους στη δικαιοσύνη».«Το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών παρακολουθεί στενά και αδιάλειπτα όλα τα θέματα που αφορούν στην Ελληνική Εθνική Μειονότητα στην Αλβανία και υπογραμμίζει ότι ο σεβασμός και η προστασία των δικαιωμάτων και της ασφάλειας των μελών της μειονότητας, πέραν από αυτονόητη υποχρέωση της κυβέρνησης της Αλβανίας προς τους πολίτες της, απορρέει τόσο από το διεθνές συμβατικό δίκαιο, όσο και από το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο, την ενσωμάτωση στο οποίο επιδιώκει η Αλβανία», καταλήγει η ανακοίνωση.-
*** Τραγικό δυστύχημα στα Τρίκαλα με επτά νεκρούς
Στο 39ο χλμ της ε.ο. Λάρισας -Τρικάλων, ένα φορτηγό που οδηγούσε ένας 44χρονος και κατευθυνόταν από Τρίκαλα προς Λάρισα, συγκρούστηκε με δύο επιβατικά ΙΧ. Από τη σύγκρουση επτά άτομα σκοτώθηκαν, μεταξύ των οποίων και δύο παιδιά.
Συγκλονισμένη είναι η τοπική κοινωνία στο νομό Τρικάλων, από ένα τραγικό πολύνεκρό δυστύχημα που στοίχισε τη ζωή σε επτά ανθρώπους, στην εθνική οδό Τρικάλων -Λάρισας. Σύμφωνα με την αστυνομική διεύθυνση Τρικάλων, στο 39ο χιλιόμετρο της Εθνικής Οδού Λάρισας -Τρικάλων, ένα φορτηγό που οδηγούσε 44χρονος κάτοικος Τρικάλων και κατευθυνόταν από Τρίκαλα προς Λάρισα, συγκρούστηκε διαδοχικά με δύο επιβατικά αυτοκίνητα τα οποία κατευθυνόταν από Λάρισα προς Τρίκαλα. Αποτέλεσμα της σύγκρουσης αυτής ήταν να τραυματιστούν θανάσιμα επτά άτομα και να τραυματιστεί ελαφρά μια 32χρονη. Τα στοιχεία αναφέρουν πως στο ένα επιβατικό αυτοκίνητο επέβαιναν 5 άτομα, πατέρας, μητέρα, δύο νήπια και η νύφη του οδηγού, και στο άλλο επέβαιναν τρία άτομα νεαρής ηλικίας. Εκτός οδοστρώματος από τη σύγκρουση βρέθηκε και το φορτηγό της μοιραίας σύγκρουσης.Ο απολογισμός ήταν τρομακτικός από τη σύγκρουση όπου ξεκληρίστηκε μια οικογένεια από την Φαρκαδόνα και μια παρέα νεαρών από τα Τρίκαλα. Ειδικότερα, από το πρώτο όχημα έχουν ανασυρθεί νεκροί ο οδηγός, η νύφη του και τα δύο ανήλικα παιδιά 18 μηνών και 4,5 ετών, ενώ στο νοσοκομείο μεταφέρθηκε η σύζυγος του οδηγού. Και από το δεύτερο αυτοκίνητο τρία άτομα, 40, 24 και 26 ετών. Στο σημείο που έγινε το τραγικό συμβάν διακόπηκε για αρκετές ώρες η κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων ενώ βρέθηκαν αμέσως Πυροσβεστικές δυνάμεις με το έργο των Πυροσβεστών να συντονίζει ο Περιφερειακός Διευθυντής της Πυροσβεστικής Υπηρεσίας Θεσσαλίας.Η κυκλοφορία των οχημάτων διεξαγόταν για αρκετή ώρα από παράδρομους, ενώ αυτή την ώρα διεξάγεται κανονικά. Στο νοσοκομείο νοσηλεύεται η σύζυγος του 44χρονου, ενώ στην Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση έχει μεταφερθεί ο οδηγός του φορτηγού που είναι αυτός που θα διαφωτίσει τις συνθήκες της τραγωδίας. Οι θανόντες θα μεταφερθούν στην Ιατροδικαστική Υπηρεσία Λάρισας για διενέργεια νεκροψίας-νεκροτομής. Προανάκριση για το τραγικό δυστύχημα ενεργείται από το Τμήμα Τροχαίας Τρικάλων. ***Απεργούν την Τετάρτη οι νοσοκομειακοί γιατροί
Το Γενικό Συμβούλιο της Ομοσπονδίας Ενώσεων Νοσοκομειακών Γιατρών αποφάσισε απεργία για την Τετάρτη, στο πλαίσιο της πανευρωπαϊκής ημέρας κινητοποίησης κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας που επιβάλλουν οι κυβερνήσεις στην Ευρώπη.
Σε απεργία προχωρούν την Τετάρτη οι νοσοκομειακοί γιατροί, μετά τη σχετική απόφαση που έλαβε το Γενικό Συμβούλιο της Ομοσπονδίας Ενώσεων Νοσοκομειακών Γιατρών Ελλάδας.
Η απεργία αυτή πραγματοποιείται στο πλαίσιο της πανευρωπαϊκής ημέρας κινητοποίησης κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας που επιβάλλουν οι κυβερνήσεις στην Ευρώπη.
«Οι νοσοκομειακοί γιατροί από κοινού με τους εργαζόμενους απαιτούν δωρεάν, δημόσιο και ποιοτικό σύστημα υγείας στη χώρα μας και προασπίζουν τα δημόσια αγαθά που δέχονται ανηλεή επίθεση από τις νεοφιλελεύθερες κυβερνήσεις», ανακοινώθηκε από την Ομοσπονδία.
Η Ομοσπονδία καλεί σε συμμετοχή στο συλλαλητήριο που διοργανώνεται από Ομοσπονδίες και συνδικάτα στην πλατεία Κοτζιά στις 12:00 την Τετάρτη.-

Στον εισαγγελέα Εφετών οδηγείται σήμερα ο πρόεδρος των Ελλήνων Οικολόγων με κίνδυνο να προφυλακιστεί. Ο εκκεντρικός πρόεδρος συνελήφθη χθες το μεσημέρι αφού εδώ και μήνες εκκρεμούσε εις βάρος του ένταλμα σύλληψης.Ο Δημοσθένης Βεργής βρίσκεται σε άσχημη ψυχολογική κατάσταση. Κρατείται επειδή εκκρεμεί εις βάρος του ένταλμα σύλληψης που έχει εκδοθεί από την Εισαγγελία Εφετών Αθηνών, καθώς τον Ιούνιο του 2010 δεν εμφανίστηκε ενώπιον του ανακριτή προκειμένου να απολογηθεί για τις κατηγορίες πλαστογραφίας και απάτης που του αποδίδουν.Μετά τη σύλληψή του, ο πρόεδρος του κόμματος λόγω της κακής ψυχολογικής κατάστασης αντιμετώπισε καρδιολογικά προβλήματα κα μεταφέρθηκε στο νοσοκομείο, όπου νοσηλεύτηκε μέχρι αργά το βράδυ. Η υπόθεση σχετίζεται με την μακροχρόνια αντιδικία του Δημοσθένη Βεργή με το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο σχετικά με μια έκταση στο Μαραθώνα. Ο ίδιος ισχυρίζεται ότι του ανήκει, ενώ το Δημόσιο ισχυρίζεται ότι πρόκειται για δημόσια δασική έκταση.Πηγή: Espresso .-
***Σύλληψη 31χρονου για κατοχή όπλων

Ολόκληρο οπλοστάσιο είχε στο πατάρι του συνεργείου επισκευής μοτοσικλετών που διατηρεί ένας 31χρονος από το Καστέλλι Ηρακλείου, ο οποίος συνελήφθη ύστερα από επιχείρηση αστυνομικών του Τ.Α.Ε. Ηρακλείου.Οι αστυνομικοί ερεύνησαν το χώρο έπειτα από πληροφορίες που είχαν, και εντόπισαν και κατέσχεσαν:-Ένα αυτόματο πυροβόλο όπλο με γεμιστήρα-Ένα επαναληπτικό πολεμικό τυφέκιο, μάρκας MAUSER, κατοχικής περιόδου-Ένα επαναληπτικό πολεμικό τυφέκιο, τύπου "γκρας"-Δύο πιστόλια, μάρκας BROWNING και BERETTA αντίστοιχα, με γεμιστήρες,-Ένα χωρίς αριθμό πιστόλι, τύπου REBLICA, με γεμιστήρα-Ένα πιστόλι άγνωστης μάρκας, με κάννη - κλείστρο αποσυναρμολογημένο σε δώδεκα κομμάτια και γεμιστήρα-Δύο περίστροφα αγνώστου μάρκας-Ένα δίκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, μάρκας BAIKAL,-Ένα κυνηγετικό όπλο, καραμπίνα, μάρκας L. FRANCHI, με κομμένη κάννη, που περιείχε πέντε κυνηγετικά φυσίγγια-Ένα μονόκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, μάρκας ZYGLIN,-Ένα μονόκαννο κυνηγετικό όπλο, αγνώστων στοιχείων-Ένα πιστόλι κρότου αερίου, μάρκας ZORAKI, με δύο γεμιστήρες-Ένα πιστόλι ρίψης φωτοβολίδων, αγνώστου μάρκας-Δεκαπέντε τεμάχια ανταλλακτικών κυνηγετικού όπλου-Μια κάννη κυνηγετικού όπλου-Μια βάση κυνηγετικού όπλου, άγνωστης μάρκας, χωρίς τον μηχανισμό της σκανδάλης-Ένα σπαθί με θήκη, με μήκος λεπίδας 26 cm και συνολικού μήκους 44 cm-Οκτώ θήκες πιστολιών - περιστρόφων δερμάτινες, η μία απ τις οποίες είναι υφασμάτινη- Συνολικά 1.058 φυσίγγια διαφόρων διαμετρημάτων-Ένα μαρμάρινο χέρι αγάλματος άγνωστης προέλευσηςΟ 31χρονος αναμένεται να οδηγηθεί σήμερα στον Εισαγγελέα Πλημμελειοδικών Ηρακλείου. -
*** Ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης ζητά ο Μπερλουσκόνι
Διάγγελμα προς τον ιταλικό λαό θα απευθύνει το πρωί της Τετάρτης ο Ιταλός πρωθυπουργός Σίλβιο Μπερλουσκόνι και αμέσως μετά θα ζητήσει ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης, ώστε να επιβεβαιώσει τη σταθερότητα της κυβέρνησής του.
Ψήφο εμπιστοσύνης για την κυβέρνησή του θα ζητήσει την Τετάρτη ο Ιταλός πρωθυπουργός Σίλβιο Μπερλουσκόνι, έπειτα από το διάγγελμα που αναμένεται να απευθύνει το πρωί της ίδιας ημέρας για τη σκοπούμενη πολιτική, όπως ανακοίνωσε την Τρίτη ο υπουργός σχέσεων με το Κοινοβούλιο Έλιο Βίτο. «Θα καταθέσουμε πρόταση εμπιστοσύνης» τόνισε ο Βίτο μετά την σύνοδο των ηγετικών στελεχών του κόμματος Λαός της Ελευθερίας (PDL) του Μπερλουσκόνι, κατά την οποία εξετάστηκε η παρέμβαση του Καβαλιέρε στη Βουλή. Ο Καβαλιέρε, που δοκιμάζεται από τις εσωτερικές διαμάχες στο δεξιό στρατόπεδο, με αυτή του την κίνηση διέψευσε τον ιταλικό Τύπο που προδίκαζε ότι δεν επρόκειτο να καταθέσει την πρόταση και να αναλάβει τον κίνδυνο να πέσει η κυβέρνησή του σε περίπτωση που καταψηφιστεί. Ο εκπρόσωπος του Μπερλουσκόνι Πάολο Μποναϊούτι επιβεβαίωσε τις πληροφορίες, ανακοινώνοντας την σύγκληση «αύριο (σ.σ. Τετάρτη) το πρωί υπουργικού συμβουλίου για την κατάθεση της πρότασης εμπιστοσύνης». Το συμβούλιο αναμένεται να δώσει, χωρίς αναμενόμενα προβλήματα και επισήμως την έγκρισή του στην απόφαση του Μπερλουσκόνι. Ο πρωθυπουργός είχε ανακοινώσει τον Αύγουστο πως θα κατέθετε την πρόταση για να επιβεβαιώσει τη σταθερότητα της κοινοβουλευτικής του πλειοψηφίας, έπειτα από την αποχώρηση στις 30 Ιουλίου του Τζανφράνκο Φίνι μαζί με 34 βουλευτές και 10 Γερουσιαστές από το PDL - με τον οποίο είχε συνιδρύσει το κόμμα - για να ιδρύσει το δικό του κόμμα (Μέλλον και Ελευθερία για την Ιταλία), αλλά η απόφαση αυτή δεν είχε επιβεβαιωθεί έως σήμερα.-

Ο Νταμ Εντόι εδώ και 20 μήνες διαπρέπει με τα χρώματα της Κοπεγχάγης. Το πέρασμα του από τον Παναθηναϊκό του αφήνει πικρή γεύση κυρίως για τον τρόπο που αποχώρησε. Ο Σενεγαλέζος δηλώνει στο Sport24.gr πιο ώριμος από ποτέ τονίζοντας πως δεν σημαίνει κάτι ξεχωριστό το γεγονός πως αύριο θα τεθεί αντιμέτωπος με την πρώην ομάδα του.
Ο Εντόι μίλησε στον συνάδελφο Νιλς Χάνσεν για την ποδοσφαιρική εξέλιξη του από τη μέρα που εγκατέλειψε την Κρήτη και τον ΟΦΗ.
"Έχω εξελιχθεί από τότε. Είχα έρθει από την Ελλάδα στην Κοπεγχάγη. Πνευματικά είμαι πιο ώριμος. Το ποδόσφαιρο πάντα ήταν η ζωή μου και νομίζω είμαι πιο υπεύθυνος. Παίζω για την ομάδα, παίρνω περισσότερες πρωτοβουλίες και δουλεύω σκληρά προκειμένου να νικάμε. Δεν μπορώ να κερδίζω μόνος μου, αλλά μπορώ να παίξω για την ομάδα και να την βοηθήσω να φτάσει σε επιτυχίες. Για να κερδίζουμε όμως θα πρέπει να αναλαμβάνω περισσότερες ευθύνες από ότι συνέβαινε στο παρελθόν". Ο Εντόι ξεκαθαρίζει πως δεν έχει καμία σημασία το γεγονός πως θα αντιμετωπίσει την πρώην ομάδα του, τον Παναθηναϊκό."Δεν σημαίνει τίποτα για μένα επειδή θα παίξουμε κόντρα στον Παναθηναϊκό. Δεν τον σκέφτομαι πλέον. Τα έχω ξεχάσει όλα" σημειώνει μάλλον πικραμένος εξηγώντας τους λόγους..."Βρίσκομαι σε άλλο σύλλογο τώρα. Ακόμη όμως δεν έχω ιδέα τι πήγε στραβά εκεί και δεν θέλω να το σκέφτομαι πλέον. Δεν θα πάω για να δείξω σε κάποιον κάτι. Δουλεύω για να καλυτερεύω αλλά και να βοηθάω την ομάδα. Θα κάνω το καλύτερο για μένα και την ομάδα μου για να κερδίζουμε σε κάθε παιχνίδι ανεξάρτητα από το όνομα του αντιπάλου". Στον Τύπο της Δανίας φιλοξενούνται δημοσιεύματα σύμφωνα με τα οποία ο Αφρικανός άσος βρίσκεται στα ραντάρ συλλόγων της Μπουντεσλίγκα. "Είμαι χαρούμενος που η Κοπεγχάγη πίστεψε με σε μένα και τώρα θέλω να τους το ξεπληρώσω. Εϊναι υπέροχο να βρίσκομαι εδώ και να μαθαίνω κάθε μέρα. Όπως είπα βελτιώνομαι εγκεφαλικά αλλά και ποδοσφαιρικά καθημερινά".Ο Εντόι δεν απέφυγε να ρίξει τις σπόντες του και για τον Χενκ Τεν Κάτε, θεωρώντας τον αποκλειστικά υπεύθυνο για τον παραγκωνισμό του από τον Παναθηναϊκό. "Δεν ξέρω ποιο ήταν το πρόβλημα. Είναι ένας περίεργος προπονητής. Λέει ένα πράγμα και κάνει κάτι άλλο. Δεν ήταν καλή εμπειρία. Δεν με είχε δει να παίζω παραπάνω από 45 λεπτά σε ένα φιλικό και όλα τελείωσαν. Βρέθηκα εκτός ομάδας και έπρεπε να προπονηθώ ατομικά". Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι ο Εντόι βρίσκεται σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση. Σκόραρε το μοναδικό γκολ της Κοπεγχάγης στη νίκη επί της Ρούμπιν Καζάν στην πρεμιέρα των ομίλων του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ, ενώ βρήκε δίχτυα και το περασμένο Σάββατο στο ματς πρωταθλήματος κόντρα στη Μίντιλαντ (3-0).-
*** Παίκτης του ΠΑΟ ούρησε στη φυσούνα!
Πρόστιμο επιβλήθηκε από την UEFA σε παίκτη του Παναθηναϊκού, επειδή ούρησε μέσα στη φυσούνα του "Καμπ Νόου" κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα με την Μπαρτσελόνα για την 1η αγωνιστική του Champions League.
Το περιστατικό, το οποίο αποκαλύπτεται από την ισπανική εφημερίδα "El Mundo Deportivo", συνέβη στα τελευταία λεπτά της αναμέτρησης, όταν ο παίκτης, λίγο πριν αντικαταστήσει ένα συμπαίκτη του, ένιωσε την ανάγκη να ουρήσει, πιθανότατα λόγω άγχους και εκνευρισμού.
Από ένστικτο κατέβηκε τις σκάλες που οδηγούσαν στη φυσούνα και προσπάθησε να βρει τις κοντινότερες τουαλέτες ώστε να ανακουφιστεί. Ωστόσο, οι τουαλέτες και τα αποδυτήρια ήταν κλειστά κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα. Μη γνωρίζοντας ισπανικά, δεν κατάφερε να συνεννοηθεί με κάποιον από τους υπαλλήλους που βρίσκονταν εκεί και αποφάσισε να κάνει την ανάγκη του δημόσια και συγκεκριμένα μέσα στη φυσούνα.Ο εκπρόσωπος της UEFA στην αναμέτρηση, ο Βέλγος Ρόμπερτ Στερκς, έμαθε το περιστατικό και το πρόστιμο επιβλήθηκε από την πειθαρχική επιτροπή της UEFA την περασμένη Πέμπτη. Το ποσό μπορεί να φτάσει μέχρι και τις 5.000 ευρώ Ωστόσο, το όνομά του δεν διέρρευσε από την ευρωπαϊκή ομοσπονδία.Από την πλευρά του Παναθηναϊκού υπήρξε απάντηση, που ανέφερε πως πρωταγωνιστής του περιστατικού ήταν ο Γιώργος Καραγκούνης, ο οποίος ούρησε κανονικά στις τουαλέτες που διαθέτει η φυσούνα του γηπέδου, αλλά καθυστέρησε την αλλαγή, με συνέπεια να του επιβληθεί πρόστιμο.Στο παρελθόν έχουν ξανασυμβεί παρόμοια περιστατικά, όταν για παράδειγμα ο Γενς Λέμαν, στο Στουτγκάρδη-Ουνιρέα, και πάλι για το Champions League, είχε αφήσει το τέρμα του και πήγε να ουρήσει πίσω από μία διαφημιστική πινακίδα. Τότε είχε τιμωρηθεί η ομάδα του με 40.000 ευρώ.-

Σε σκέψεις βρίσκεται ο Νίκος Νιόπλιας ενόψει της αναμέτρησης με την Κοπεγχάγη το βράδυ της Τετάρτης (29/09, 21:45), κυρίως για το πώς θα αντιμετωπίσει τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν οι "πράσινοι" στην άμυνα.
Ο Έλληνας τεχνικός, που για το συγκεκριμένο παιχνίδι θα στερηθεί των υπηρεσιών του τραυματία Σεντρίκ Καντέ, σκέφτεται να χρησιμοποιήσει στο κέντρο της άμυνας τον Κώστα Κατσουράνη.
Ο διεθνής μέσος αναμένεται να αποτελέσει παρτενέρ του Γιόσου Σαριέγκι, αφού ο Νιόπλιας έχει συνειδητοποιήσει πως ο Ζαν-Αλέν Μπουμσόνγκ δεν βρίσκεται σε καλή αγωνιστική κατάσταση και μάλλον θα προτιμήσει να τον αφήσει στον πάγκο.Άλλωστε οι Σαριέγκι-Κατσουράνης έχουν αγωνιστεί ως αμυντικό δίδυμο και κατά τη διάρκεια της περσινής αγωνιστικής περιόδου και μάλιστα κάποιες φορές απόλυτα επιτυχημένα.Σημαντικό για τον Παναθηναϊκό είναι και το γεγονός πως οι Δανοί θα αγωνιστούν με μοναδικό προωθημένο τον Νταμ Ν'Ντόι, το προσωπικό μαρκάρισμα του οποίου θα αναλάβει ο Βάσκος.Εκτός από αυτό το ενδεχόμενο, ο Νιόπλιας εξετάζει την περίπτωση να μεταφέρει στο κέντρο της άμυνας τον Ζιλμπέρτο Σίλβα, ο οποίος είχε αγωνιστεί στη συγκεκριμένη θέση στο β' ημίχρονο του αγώνα με την Καβάλα. Πάντως η περίπτωση αυτή συγκεντρώνει λιγότερες πιθανότητες.-

Τη νίκη με 91-74 απέναντι στην Ζελέζνικ πήρε ο Παναθηναϊκός στο μπάσκετ, σε φιλικό παιχνίδι προετοιμασίας που διεξήχθη στο Βελιγράδι. Οι παίκτες του Ζέλικο Ομπράντοβιτς είχαν πολύ καλή απόδοση και ξεχώρισαν οι Τσαρτσαρής και Καλάθης.

Με τρεις απουσίες θα παραταχτεί ο Παναθηναϊκός την Τετάρτη απέναντι στην Κοπεγχάγη, στο παιχνίδι της δεύτερης αγωνιστικής των ομίλων του Champions League. Εκτός από τον Σίντνεϊ Γκοβού, ο οποίος υπέστη θλάση τρίτου βαθμού στην προπόνηση της Κυριακής και δεν θα παίξει στο μεθαυριανό ματς, νοκ-άουτ είναι και οι Γιούρκας Σεϊταρίδης, Σεντρίκ Καντέ. Ο πρώτος ένιωσε ενοχλήσεις στον τετρακέφαλο κι αποχώρησε από την προπόνηση και όπως φαίνεται θα απουσιάσει για τουλάχιστον δέκα ημέρες. Από την άλλη, ο Γάλλος αμυντικός υπέστη συντριπτικό κάταγμα στον παράμεσο του δεξιού του χεριού και θα επιστρέψει στα τέλη Οκτωβρίου.Εν τω μεταξύ, με ανακοίνωσή της η ΠΑΕ ζητάει από τον κόσμο να είναι ιδιαίτερα προσεκτικός στη διάρκεια του αγώνα με την Κοπεγχάγη: «Η ΠΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός, ενόψει του εντός έδρας αγώνα με την Κοπεγχάγη, που θα διεξαχθεί την Τετάρτη, 29 Σεπτεμβρίου, υπενθυμίζει στους φιλάθλους μας ότι η UEFA είναι ιδιαίτερα αυστηρή σε θέματα που παρεμποδίζουν την ομαλή διεξαγωγή του αγώνα (π.χ. χρήση βεγγαλικών ή και καπνογόνων, ρίψη αντικειμένων, χρήση laser) και ότι η ομάδα μας έχει τιμωρηθεί με την ποινή της διεξαγωγής ενός αγώνα κεκλεισμένων των θυρών με αναστολή. Αυτό σημαίνει πως η παρακολούθηση της συμπεριφοράς των φιλάθλων μας εκ μέρους της UEFA θα είναι εντατική και οποιαδήποτε παράβαση θα οδηγήσει σε τιμωρία της έδρας μας. Those with the additional title of vice president earn €30,000 per month, but they make triple that in speeches, and God knows how much in kickbacks. Fourthreichian President Haiku Herman earns half million euros per year. Fourthreichian Premier Durao Barroso earns €400,000 per year and more than 50,000 euros per speech. Most of the EU leaders in Brussels also get a location allowance. Fourthreichian Diplomacy Czar Catherine Ashton earns around €400,000 a year. In addition to that comes allowances for private households and for representative costs, basically everything, including myriad junkets for kith and kin all over the world. Commissioners continue collecting 75 percent of their base salaries for a period of five years after they leave. Speakers bureaus continue booking them up, and there is some flow of kickbacks. The transition is a piece of cake. Some former commissioners simply return to their political careers back at home in glory. Others market the knowledge and contacts they have collected in Brussels in private industry. At least forty former commissioners are receiving transition payments, despite the fact that they have long since found new employers. They are entitled to it by law. The old age safety net for top officials at the European institutions are also beyond imagination. After 16 years of employment for Europe, a worker qualifies for the maximum pension rate, 70 percent of the person's final salary. For most higher-ranking EU civil servants who have spent a good deal of their life working in Brussels, that means a pension of far more than €15,000 per month. It's a pension they never have to pay anything into. Let's give people a voice – in political parties as well as in the media. But let's also try to convince them that the least important issue is what is permissible to say. The right decisions, deeds rather than words – these, in contrast, lead to the core of what is needed, for example to ensure that integration succeeds and doesn't fail, to ensure that parallel societies are prevented from developing and aren't encouraged, to ensure that youth violence is curbed and not simply accepted, to ensure that the social state helps those who need it and not those who abuse it, and much more.Politicians have failed in the past. In some cases, the right conclusions have been drawn during the last few years and this course must be continued. As so often in a democracy, this will probably cost some effort and almost certainly involve compromises. These compromises are good if the advantages outweigh the drawbacks and if the principle already mentioned is adhered to: policies represent interests based on values, both at home and abroad.First, freedom doesn't come without any strings attached. That applies to our personal life, it applies to politics, it applies to the responsibility of the media, indeed it applies to us all. Freedom always brings with it responsibility for everyone. Freedom never stands on its own, it is never an end in itself. It's a coin with two sides: on the one side there is the freedom from something and, on the other, the freedom to something. When we talk of freedom therefore, we're actually always also talking about the freedom of others. What distinguishes us in and is how we deal with our diversity, our freedom and the freedom of others. We Germans and Europeans have learned in the course of our history to make the most of diversity. The quality which enables us to do that is tolerance.Second, tolerance is a demanding virtue. It makes demands on our hearts and minds. But it's not to be confused with a failure to take a stand or an "anything goes" attitude. It has never left room for intolerance, for violence from either left or right-wing extremists or for violence in the name of a religion. Tolerance digs its own grave if it doesn't protect itself from intolerance. Freedom of religion doesn't mean that, in case of doubt, the Sharia takes precedence over the Basic Law. Tolerance doesn't mean looking the other way or applying double standards. And respect doesn't mean submission.Third, freedom in responsibility – that also applies to business. A social market economy based on freedom offers the scope which allows people to act responsibly. The painful lesson we learned from the financial and economic crisis must be taken to heart by everyone. Since the days of Ludwig Erhard, the state has been the guardian of our social market economy.Fourth, the secret of freedom is courage. This quote from Thucydides is just as relevant today as it was in the 5th century BC. To live freedom requires courage, again and again each and every day, in both trivial and important matters: when a teenager no longer takes part in bullying a classmate and risks being excluded and marginalized, when a manager is no longer prepared to be involved in dodgy practices in his company and jeopardizes his career, when in a dictatorship people strive to be able to look at themselves in the mirror every day. Wolf Biermann once defended the so‑called rebellious scaredy-cats. Biermann used this expression to describe those in the GDR who closed their windows and drew their curtains before listening to a record by a musician frowned upon by the state. Such a person was showing resistance, Biermann stated, even if it was only resistance to his own faint-heartedness. And he was right: courage begins with overcoming one's own faint-heartedness. I'm certain that each and every one of us has experienced something like this, even those who didn't live in the GDR.Fifth, freedom is challenged by the seemingly endless possibilities of the digital revolution. I, too, am fascinated by the possibilities of the World Wide Web. Nevertheless, you won't find any photos of my last birthday party on the Internet – at least not any I put there. But seriously, I'm concerned about how willing people are to give up their privacy, the sanctuary of individual freedom, and publish sensitive personal data on the Internet. I'm at a complete loss to understand this when I recall the heated debates in about the video surveillance of public areas or a census. We politicians and the media need to raise awareness and, indeed, to educate people so that they deal with freedom more responsibly in this sphere.Sixth, our foreign policy is also based on values. I'm concerned about the abuse of freedom and tolerance by dictatorships and autocratic states. Let me remind you, for example, of the third UN Conference against Racism held in 2001. Unfortunately, this Conference and its follow‑up meetings were dominated by representatives of dictatorships and states under authoritarian rule and that turned the original idea behind these conferences on its head.In these contexts, we are often asked: isn't it a sign of cultural, Western, European and Christian arrogance that we believe our values and civil liberties are universally valid? My answer is clear: no, this isn't arrogance on our part. Nearly all states are members of the United Nations and have recognized the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration's 30 great articles make it clear that anyone infringing on these rights doesn't have the welfare of humankind at heart. No cultural difference can justify disregard for these rights.I'm convinced that if we stand up for our values with self-confidence, we will gain more respect and recognition around the world than if we do so timorously. On 28 September 2002 Freedom of Information organizations from various countries around the globe meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, created a network of Freedom of Information Advocates(FOIA Network) and agreed to collaborate in promotion of the individual right of access to information and open, transparent governance. The group of FOI Advocates also proposed that 28 September be nominated as International Right to Know Day in order to symbolize the global movement for promotion of the right to information. The aim of having a Right to Know Day is to raise awareness of the right to information. It is a day on which freedom of information activists from around the world can use further to promote this fundamental human right and to campaign for open, democratic societies in which there is full citizen empowerment and participation in government. The right of access to information is an important human right, necessary for the enjoyment of other human rights. The right to information is essential for transparent and accountable government. The right of access to information makes possible the public involvement in formulating social policies and in the decision-making processes of governance. The right to information can only be effectively exercised and implemented on the basis of laws, regulating this right in accordance with international standards.On the occasion of the International Right to Know Day, the European Ombudsman, Nikiforos Diamandouros, has called on the EU administration to be as transparent and citizen-friendly as possible. Speaking in an event he co-organised with Transparency International in Brussels, entitled "Transparency at the EU level and in the Member States", he pointed out that only if European citizens feel that the EU administration is transparent, accessible and accountable, will they develop the necessary trust and willingness actively to participate in the democratic life of the Union.Basil Venitis muses that Transparency International(TI) kowtows to kleptocrats for consulting fees. TI Chair, Huguette Labelle, La Belle de Jour, TI chairwoman, rubs shoulders with kleptocrats, begging for fees! TI has deteriorated to a spindoctor of kleptocrats! TI itself is not transparent, but translucent, transformed to Translucency International! More than one third of the Ombudsman's inquiries concern complaints about lack of transparency in the EU administration. Such complaints concern, for example, access to information or documents, the composition of working groups, or the institutions' policy making.Diamandouros stressed the Lisbon Treaty provides for greater transparency in the activities of the EU administration. It requires the Council to meet in public when it deliberates on draft legislation and contains the citizens' right of access to documents of all EU institutions, bodies, offices and agencies, including, for the first time, the European Council. The Treaty also requires the EU administration to conduct its work as openly as possible, in order to promote good governance and the participation of civil society. Diamandouros is committed to informing citizens about their right to know what the EU administration is doing.The Ombudsman also receives an increasing number of complaints that raise ethical concerns. They range from the question of what gifts EU officials may accept to the issue of revolving doors whereby former Commissioners or EU officials move to the private sector thereby running the risk of creating conflicts of interest. With a view to identifying best practices with regard to the fundamental ethical principles that should apply to EU officials, the Ombudsman recently launched a consultation with the national ombudsmen in the Member States.Venitis asserts kleptocrats are absolutely shameless in trying to protect themselves and their colleagues from legitimate inquiry into their activities. Even though parliaments have passed a number of whistle-blower statutes to protect employees from retaliation when reporting the misdeeds of their superiors, the staff of parliaments, precisely the people who are most likely to know about political corruption, enjoy no such protection.Kleprocrats have repeatedly tried to find constitutional ways of limiting the free speech of real and potential opponents. What is even more remarkable, kleptocrats are not content with just trying to protect themselves, but have gone so far as to try to protect corrupt foreign leaders from those who may wish to expose their wrongdoing.Kleptocrats depend on elaborate mythologies to keep the people complacent in the face of constant attacks on their liberty, their property, and their lives. Kings used to proclaim that they ruled with divine approval, so disobedience to them was actually disobedience to God. That worked to keep most of the citizenry in line for a very long time. As religion started losing its hold over people, kleptocrats came up with many ideas. At some point, even the most stupid kleptocratic dinosaurs just might recognize that they're living in a new environment, one where kleptocrats are no more able to control the flow of embarrassing information than record companies can control the flow of digital music files. Thanks to the Internet, a new wave of grassroots journalists, and a global network of venitists, it's less risky than ever before to release incriminating information anonymously. The result will be a world where it's easier to expose misbehavior and to deter it.

If there is a philosophical Atlas who carries the whole of Western civilization on his shoulders, it is Aristotle. He has been opposed, misinterpreted, misrepresented, and—like an axiom — used by his enemies in the very act of denying him. Whatever intellectual progress men have achieved rests on his achievements.Aristotle may be regarded as the cultural barometer of Western history. Whenever his influence dominated the scene, it paved the way for one of history's brilliant eras; whenever it fell, so did mankind. The Aristotelian revival of the thirteenth century brought men to the Renaissance. The intellectual counter-revolution turned them back toward the cave of his antipode: Plato.There is only one fundamental issue in philosophy: the cognitive efficacy of man's mind. The conflict of Aristotle versus Plato is the conflict of reason versus mysticism. It was Plato who formulated most of philosophy's basic questions — and doubts. It was Aristotle who laid the foundation for most of the answers. Thereafter, the record of their duel is the record of man's long struggle to deny and surrender or to uphold and assert the validity of his particular mode of consciousness.Basil Venitis points out Plato and Aristotle asserted that different regimes produce different types of human beings, and regimes ought to be judged by the character of their citizens. In Europe, the growth of interventionist welfare state has damaged personal responsibility and integrity, fostered dependence, undermined families, rejected venitism, and promoted corruption. Especially in Greece, the most corrupt country on Earth, Graecokleptocracy is accepted as a normal thing, and most Greeks rely on graft, sinecures, cheating, incivility, cacodemony, cancer of socialism, jingoism, religionism, lies, and kickbacks. The character of modern Greece of the 300 Graecokleptocrats is the opposite of the character of ancient Greece of the 300 Spartans of Leonidas. The Achilles Heel of the national character is licensure. Venitis asserts that all licenses should be abolished, including doctors, lawyers, and marriage. Licensure is an immoral exercise of force, an overly burdensome restraint on trade, a violation of the right to liberty, a mill of kickbacks. Government is a guarantor of liberty and is compatible with liberty only if its range is adequately restricted to the preservation of economic freedom. One of the many reasons why government licensure is incompatible with liberty, therefore, is because it is destructive of economic freedom. No other nation demands more licenses than Greece. Anyone has the natural right to pursue any means of providing for himself so long as in doing so he does not act fraudulently or otherwise violate the rights of others. The State mandated license turns the free market upside down. It prohibits everyone from producing in a given industry except for those who are granted the privilege of doing so by the State, especially those who provide huge kickbacks to kleptocrats. The State, in such a misery, absorbs all individual rights unto itself and then divvies up some of those rights in any number of ways that increase the flow of kickbacks. Under a licensing system, such as we have today, if someone attempts to exercise his natural right to provide for himself without the state's nod of approval, which usually comes with kickbacks, that person goes to jail. Imprisonment for supporting oneself in an honest and non-fraudulent manner which does not infringe on the rights of others just doesn't seem right. Preemptive protection is offensive in nature, and therefore, is itself a violation of natural rights. In a free society, it is only after fraud or another violation of rights takes place that the state has the right to intervene on behalf of the consumer. By means of the licensure power, the State can permit the individual to eat or it can condemn him to starve, unless he gives kickbacks to kleptocrats. So long as the government has the power to issue licenses to live, we cannot claim to be free, and living without freedom is not much of a life. This week marked six months since Congress passed the healthcare reform bill in what has become all-too-typical legislative chicanery. Those in power crafted a mammoth piece of legislation and rammed it through Congress under a dire sense of emergency. Insisting on time enough to read the bill was dismissed as dangerous and crazy in a time of crisis. We were told that if we really wanted to see what was in the bill, we would have to pass it first. I cannot imagine the founding fathers intended for Congress to legislate in this manner. I would think if a Member is not absolutely certain the entire legislation meets Constitutional muster, the default vote should be "no" in accordance with our oath of office. But now that Congress has had six months to read the new law, there is a significant amount of buyer's remorse on Capitol Hill. The more constituents learn about the law, the more angry they become. 60% of Americans are now said to be in favor of repealing the entire thing. Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to repeal a law than to pass a bill. I wrote a while back about the egregious provision to require businesses to issue 1099s for all transactions over $600 as a way to partially pay for it. I have cosponsored legislation to fix this issue, yet this is just the tip of the iceberg. First of all, in spite of the administration repeating over and over that this legislation would not increase costs for Americans, they are now saying they knew all along that it would. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that American families will see their premiums rise by an average of $2100 by 2016. The Wall Street Journal has reported that the cost of compliance is forcing some insurers to increase premiums by up to 20% as soon as next year! Also, in spite of repeated claims from the administration that we could all keep our plans and doctors if we liked them, the administration's own officials are now predicting that won't be true for up to 117 million Americans who will lose their current plans. Major insurers are also dropping child-only plans because of mandates and price-fixing on such policies, leaving parents with fewer choices for their children, not more. In addition, in spite of claiming this law would contain government costs, not increase them, administration actuaries now predict it will increase healthcare spending by over $300 billion. This additional spending comes along with doctor shortages, fewer choices and more taxes. Perhaps worst of all, increases in labor costs because of health insurance mandates are discouraging employers from hiring new workers and even triggering more layoffs. Anyone with a basic understanding of venitism could have predicted the unintended consequences of these new healthcare policies. Central planning never increases choices and quality or cuts costs as promised. Price controls and government mandates always create artificial scarcity. Healthcare is not a right, nor a privilege. It is a product, like food or clothing. As with any good or service, the free market regulation of supply and demand provides the optimum quality to the maximum number of people. Once we realize the problems we are trying to solve today were created by government intervention beginning in the 1960's, we can begin to put patients and doctors back in control of healthcare, rather than third party oligopolies and government bureaucrats. British maestro Sir Edward Downes, who conducted the BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Opera but struggled in recent years as his hearing and sight failed, died with his wife choreographer and TV producer Lady Joan Downes, who had terminal cancer, at Dignitas in Switzerland in July of 2009. He was 85 and she was 74. After 54 happy years together, they decided to end their own lives rather than continue to struggle with serious health problems. They died peacefully, and under circumstances of their own choosing. They both lived life to the full and considered themselves to be extremely lucky to have lived such rewarding lives, both professionally and personally. Euthanasia is now lawful in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Albania, and the American states of Oregon and Washington. Choosing to hasten death by self-starvation and dehydration should be accompanied by palliative care. Electing to die by terminal sedation is also a choice provided it is freely made by the patient. Living Wills and Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care must be respectfully considered by medical professionals at all times. The most popular euthanasia substance on the market is pentobarbital, aka nembutal, that is a barbiturate and powerful sleep-aid. Dignitas uses the following protocol to assist suicides: an oral dose of an anti-emetic drug, followed approximately 30 minutes later by a lethal overdose of 15 grams of powdered nembutal dissolved in a glass of water or fruit juice. The nembutal overdose depresses the central nervous system, causing the person to become drowsy and fall asleep within 10 minutes of drinking it. Anaesthesia progresses to coma as the person's breathing becomes more shallow. Death is caused by respiratory arrest, which occurs within 30 minutes of ingesting the nembutal. Basil Venitis points out many medical advances are merely medicine gone mad, delivered by maddocs, maddog doctors who cannot face failure. Quality of life can disappear under a forest of needles, wires, electronic gadgets and surgical proceedures. There are myriads dying trapped in hospitals waiting for useless tests when they want to be at home. Others in coma following accidents or strokes often linger for months, hovering in that twilight zone between life and death, sustained by massive effort even when there is no hope of meaningful future existence. Medical madness can be horrific. A friend went into hospital at the age of 75 for surgery which found inoperable tumour. She was a woman with strong faith, at peace, sustained by hope of eternal life. A day or two later she had a heart attack and was dying peacefully, as she had often prayed she would. But despite her wishes for no heroics the crash team was called and violent attempts were made to revive her with massive electric shocks and injections. She died anyway, without peace or dignity because no one stopped to think. The limits of life are constantly expanding, without regard for the well-being or will of the patient. In some emergency rooms, half of all admissions now come from nursing homes. If someone who is chronically ill has a heart attack or gets pneumonia there, the most sensible thing to do is to make sure that they don't suffer, and to refrain from doing anything else. But this is all too rare. Instead, old people, who are dying, are torn out of their familiar surroundings, rushed off to hospital in an ambulance, resuscitated and given artificial respiration. There are many patients who have been resuscitated only to remain alive in a vegetative state. Medicine puts many thousands of people a year in this awful state, in which they will remain suspended, unless they happen to have a living will. It was different in the past. In the 1960s, just about every other patient left the hospital in reasonably good health after resuscitation. The others died, partially because at the time you couldn't just keep feeding the unconscious. Today about one in 20 patients survives resuscitation. Take away those who leave the hospitals requiring long-term intensive care and the success rate drops. No brain can survive without oxygen for more than eight to 10 minutes. If a doctor knows that this time limit has been exceeded, the patient has enlarged pupils and is almost clinically dead, then his efforts are pointless. Unless of course, the doctor thinks it's a good thing to produce patients in a vegetative state, at a 99% success rate. The guiding principle for any physician is not to harm the patient. Additionally resuscitating someone who has metastasizing cancer and failing kidneys, after cardiac arrest, is completely pointless. This isn't any requirement for dialysis any longer either. Doing this, the doctor is just prolonging the patient's suffering. Artificial feeding through a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy(PEG) tube inserted into the abdominal wall was invented to feed accident victims or people with a temporarily impaired ability to swallow. It was never intended as a long-term measure. But today about millions of people are living off these tubes. That is even though many studies have shown that a PEG tube neither prolongs life nor improves its quality during the end phase. Many patients want their doctors to help them end their life with dignity, because they can no longer tolerate their suffering. There are situations in which it isn't just ethically justified, but in which doctors have a duty to do this. There are myriad situations in which a doctor is called upon to relieve the suffering of someone who is severely ill, and in a hopeless situation, and to conduct this in the manner in which the patient wants. In this sense, the doctor should see assisted suicide as a kind of palliative measure. In a spirit of compassion for all, every competent adult has the incontestable right to humankind's ultimate civil and personal liberty, the right to die in a manner and at a time of his own choosing. Whereas modern medicine has brought great benefits to humanity, it cannot entirely solve the pain and distress of the dying process. Venitis notes that kleptocrats oppose euthanasia, not for religulous reasons, but because they want many slaves around to pay taxes, with most of the loot finding its way to the secret offshore accounts of kleprocrats. Most Europeans want the establshment of euthanasia. Why a poor old guy who suffers from huge pain cannot escape from his misery to the other side? The summation of infinite costs from myriad diminishing returns add up to astronomical levels. Prolonging painful deaths at huge costs does not make any sense. Those toward the end of their lives are accounting for 90% of the total healthcare bill. If we really are going to change how we spend money on health, it means we must change how we spend money on death. The growing traffic in death tourism is an indictment of a healthcare system that seems to incentivize everything except the peaceful death to which we all aspire. Let the people die in peace, and let society breathe in peace. Live and Let Die(1973) is the eighth spy film in the James Bond series, and the first to star Roger Moore as the fictional 007 agent James Bond. Venitis notes that euthanasia refers to the practice of ending a life in a painless manner, to live and let die. Euthanasia provides a way to relieve extreme pain, provides a way of relief when a person's quality of life is low, frees up huge medical funds from diminishing returns on health to help other people, is manifestation of selfownership. In active euthanasia, something is done to end the patient's life; in passive euthanasia, something is not done that would have preserved the patient's life.Venitis asserts that euthanasia is the most humane and sympathetic way one can end life. By committing euthanasia, one is giving the power to a medical professional to end one's life. This may be a personal issue, or one that is given to a person by way of a durable power of attorney. In both cases, drugs are either given or withheld to facilitate the natural cause of death. Patients who have cancer, AIDS, and other terminal medical conditions with a poor prognosis are those who commonly consider euthanasia. -
