Με αγωγή απειλεί τώρα ο Μένιος Φουρθιώτης, μάνατζερ της Τζούλιας Αλεξανδράτου, ακόμη και στελέχη του Γενικού Επιτελείου Εθνικής Άμυνας, σύμφωνα με το περιεχόμενο τηλεφωνικής συνομιλίας του με τη zougla.gr. O νεαρός μάνατζερ αναφέρει ότι θα απαιτήσει από όσους τον κατηγορούν το ποσό του ενός εκατ. ευρώ ως αποζημίωση για προσβολή προσωπικότητας δια της δικαστικής οδού.-

** Τριετές πάγωμα μισθών και στον ιδιωτικό τομέα
«Αυτό είναι μια απόφαση, που έχει ληφθεί», δήλωσε ο κυβερνητικός εκπρόσωπος, ερωτηθείς εάν σχεδιάζει η κυβέρνηση να προχωρήσει σε πράξη νομοθετικού περιεχομένου για τριετές πάγωμα μισθών στον ιδιωτικό τομέα.-

Την παραπομπή σε Προανακριτική Επιτροπή της Βουλής, των πέντε από τους έξι πρώην υπουργούς της Νέας Δημοκρατίας, για την υπόθεση της Μονής Βατοπαιδίου αποφάσισε με μυστική ψηφοφορία η Ολομέλεια της Βουλής.-



~** Αλλαγές σε «Πόθεν Έσχες» και νόμο περί ευθύνης υπουργών
Καταργείται ο ειδικός χρόνος παραγραφής για τα αδικήματα υπουργών και υφυπουργών, σύμφωνα με το νομοθετικό πλαίσιο που προτείνει το υπουργείο Δικαιοσύνης, βάσει του οποίου θα παραγράφονται σύμφωνα με τα ισχύοντα για τους πολίτες.-



~** Αλλαγή πολιτικής στη στέγαση υπηρεσιών της Βουλής
Με απόφαση του Προέδρου της Βουλής κ. Φίλιππου Πετσάλνικου αναθεωρήθηκε ο σχεδιασμός για τις ανάγκες στέγασης των υπηρεσιών της Βουλής, ώστε να εξοικονομηθούν πέντε εκατομμύρια ευρώ.-

Να οργανωθεί πιο γρήγορα το θεσμικό πλαίσιο για την υλοποίηση των διακρατικών υιοθεσιών, με τρόπο που να διασφαλίζει τα δικαιώματα των παιδιών, κάλεσε ο Συνήγορος του Πολίτη το ελληνικό κράτος.-

Επιτέλους ακούσαμε κάποια πράγματα από επίσημα χείλη για τη μάστιγα του εγχώριου κομμουνισμού. Ελπίζουμε και άλλοι πολιτικοί να αρνηθούν σύντομα την κομμουνιστική ασυλία και να ακουστούν κουβέντες έξω απ’ τα δόντια εντός και εκτός Βουλής.-

Θέμα: Η ιστορία της Ευτυχίας Καλύβας
Τοΰτο τό επεισόδιο είναι πέρα ώς πέρα αληθινό.Αυτά συνέβησαν στό Καλεσμένο. Είναι ένα μικρό χωριό, κρυμμένο σέ μιά βαθειά λαγκάδα των Εύρυτανικών βουνών, λίγες ώρες εξω άπό τό Καρπενήσι.Ένα βράδυ, έδώ καί λίγες μέρες, μόλις σκοτείνιαζε, οί συμμορίτες ζώσαν τό χωριό καί μπήκαν στά σπίτια γιά ν’ αρπάξουν ο,τι βρουν, τρόφιμα, ζώα, γυναίκες καί προπαντός παιδιά. Γέμισε ή λαγκαδιά άπό βογγητά, άπό ουρλιάσματα καί ντουφεκιές. Έπεφτε ξύλο αλύπητο. Στήν άρχή τού κάτω μαχαλά κατοικούσε ή Ευτυχία Καλύβα, ορφανή κοπελλίτσα δεκαέξη χρονών, μέ τά δυό αδελφάκια της, τό ένα οκτώ καί τό άλλο ένδεκα χρονών.Έπάλευε στήθος μέ στήθος μέ τό χιόνι, μέ τόν εχθρό, μέ τήν μοίρα, γιά νά σώση τήν κληρονομιά τήν μοναδική τού εύζωνα τής “Αλβανίας, τά δυό αδερφάκια της. Βιαζόταν. Ηταν κυνηγημένη. Έπρεπε πρίν ξημερώση νά φθάση ώς τά μέρη πού φύλαγε ό στρατός μας.Τά παιδιά! λέει στους φαντάρους πού έβλεπαν τά κουρελιασμένα ρούχα, τό μισόγυμνο κορμί της ολο αίματα. Θέμα: Οι Έλληνες δοσίλογοι και το διεθνές οικονομικό κατεστ
Αφήνοντας την χώρα (όχι τυχαία) σε κοινωνικά και οικονομικά ερείπια οι θητείες του Φον Σημίτεν και του "μπούλη" της Ραφήνας, μια διέξοδος απέμενε στο Σιωνιστικό Φραγγο-Σαξωνικό κατεστημένο. Η προώθηση στην εξουσία (προετοιμασμένη απο καιρό) του... δικού τους παιδιού, του "λεφτά υπάρχουν" και της συμορίας του. Σκοπός τους να συνεχίσουν την υποταγή (ενός λαού που συνήθισε στην καλοπέραση) στο διεθνές τραπεζικό και τοκογλυφικό σύστημα.-

Ο δήμαρχος της Ηλιούπολης, Γιάννης Αναγνώστου, απαγορεύει την παρουσίαση της παράστασης «Το όνομά μου είναι Rachel Corrie» στο δημοτικό θέατρο Ηλιούπολης, διότι, όπως ο ίδιος δήλωσε, θεωρεί το ανέβασμα της συγκεκριμένης παράστασης «πολιτική κίνηση».
Η δημοτική παράταξη "Ηλίου - πόλις" σε συνεργασία με το επίσημο πολιτιστικό κέντρο του δήμου ενδιαφέρθηκαν για το ανέβασμα της παράστασης στο δήμο Ηλιούπολης. Η παράσταση είχε προγραμματιστεί για τις 7 Ιουλίου 2010. Ενώ, όμως, είχαν συμφωνηθεί όλα τα διαδικαστικά, είχαν οριστεί οι ημερομηνίες των τεχνικών προβών και διευθετούνταν τα επιμέρους τεχνικά ζητήματα, ο κ. Αναγνώστου αποφάσισε να ακυρώσει την παράσταση.
Η δημοτική παράταξη "Ηλίου - πόλις" έδωσε διορία στο δήμαρχο και τον αντιδήμαρχο να αναθεωρήσουν τη θέση τους μέχρι την Κυριακή 28 Ιουνίου. Ωστόσο, η θέση του δημάρχου δεν έχει αλλάξει.
Ακυρώνει προγραμματισμένη θεατρική παράσταση απαγορεύοντας τη φιλοξενία της στο δημοτικό θέατρο. Απαγορεύει την παράσταση "Το όνομά μου είναι Rachel Corrie", μία παράσταση της Μάνιας Παπαδημητρίου που παρουσιάστηκε όλο το χειμώνα στο Θέατρο του Νέου Κόσμου, μία παράσταση που πήρε δύο παρατάσεις και που θα συνεχίσει να παρουσιάζεται και για δεύτερη χρονιά.

Ο όρος ‘άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες’ προσβάλλει τους ανθρώπους με αναπηρία

Δεκάδες Έλληνες πολίτες με αναπηρία αθροίζουν τις υπογραφές τους σε έγγραφο που θα αποσταλεί στα τέλη του Ιουνίου προς την ανώνυμη εταιρεία “Αττικό μετρό” όπως αναφέρει δημοσίευμα της «Ε», αξιώνοντας την αντικατάσταση του όρου “άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες” που χρησιμοποιείται στις ηχητικές ανακοινώσεις της εταιρείας από τον όρο “άτομα με αναπηρία”.
Το όλο ζήτημα είναι πολύ πιο σοβαρό από ότι με πρώτη ανάγνωση δείχνει, δεν είναι ζήτημα τήρησης των τύπων αλλά ζήτημα ουσίας.
Η «ψυχή» της διαμαρτυρίας, ακτιβίστρια δικηγόρος με απώλεια όρασης Πωλίνα Παπανικολάου. Καταρχάς ο όρος άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες συνιστά κενολογία. Η επικράτηση επί σειρά ετών του όρου , παρέπεμπε στην αδυναμία/ανικανότητα της πολιτείας να δημιουργήσει / εξασφαλίσει πρόσβαση σε θεμελιώδη κοινωνικά δικαιώματα και αγαθά για τους ανθρώπους με αναπηρία.
Βαπτίζονταν λοιπόν “ειδικές” οι θεμελιώδεις/γενικές ανάγκες των ανθρώπων με αναπηρία (στην εκπαίδευση, εργασία κ.ο.κ.) επειδή η πολιτεία δεν τις κάλυπτε, ως εκ της βασικής περί ισότητας αρχής του συντάγματος όφειλε και οφείλει.
Ο όρος, λοιπόν, ήταν άλλοθι της πολιτειακής ανεπάρκειας και ως τέτοιος εξακολουθούσε να επικρατεί σε εποχές όπου η δικαιωματική προσέγγιση της αναπηρίας ήταν κοινωνικά ζητούμενη.
Υπό την έννοια αυτή, η εμμονή στην αναπαραγωγή του όρου “άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες” παραπέμπει στις εποχές επικράτησης των πατερναλιστικών αντιλήψεων για την αναπηρία και διευκολύνει επικοινωνιακά την συνέχιση των συνταγματικών παραβιάσεων έναντι των ανθρώπων με αναπηρία της ελληνικής πολιτείας.
Ακόμα και εάν, όμως, κάποιοι δεν διαθέτουν τη δυνατότητα να κατανοήσουν το παραπάνω σκεπτικό, υπάρχει ένα επιχείρημα ακόμα πιο “αυτονόητο” επί του οποίου αδυναμία κατανόησης δε νοείται.
Οι ίδιοι οι άνθρωποι με αναπηρία λοιπόν, δια των επισήμων φορέων τους, έχουν ορίσει ως παρωχημένο και αντιδραστικό τον όρο “άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες” και τον έχουν αντικαταστήσει με τον όρο “άτομα με αναπηρία” εδώ και μιά δεκαετία.
Συνεπώς, η επιμονή στην χρήση του παρωχημένου/αντιδραστικού όρου συνειδητά σημαίνει ευθεία αγνόηση των ανθρώπων με αναπηρία, άρνηση του δικαιώματός τους στον αυτοπροσδιορισμό, κάθετη εναντίον τους προσβολή που παραπέμπει σε ξεκάθαρες ενδόμυχες ρατσιστικές αντιλήψεις.
Η τρίτη σημαντική όψη της διαμαρτυρίας προς την “ΑΤΤΙΚΟ ΜΕΤΡΟ” Α.Ε. – μέχρι το πρωϊνό της 23ης Ιουνίου την υπέγραφαν 40 άνθρωποι – έχει να κάνει με το μέγεθος της παραβίασης του δικαιώματος των ανθρώπων με αναπηρία στον αυτοπροσδιορισμό.
Η εταιρεία/αποδέκτης της διαμαρτυρίας, δεν αποτελεί την εξαίρεση αλλά τον κανόνα στην χρήση του παρωχημένου/καταδικαστέου όρου. Κατά συνέπεια το περιεχόμενο της διαμαρτυρίας και το συνακόλουθο αίτημα αποκατάστασης της προσβολής σε βάρος των ανθρώπων με αναπηρία, έχει επί της ουσίας πάμπολλους αποδέκτες.
Το κείμενο έχει συντάξει η νομικός με απώλεια όρασης Πωλίνα Παπανικολάου, ψυχή της όλης προσπάθειας να αναχαιτιστεί – επιτέλους – το κύμα ρατσισμού και χυδαιότητας που εκπορεύεται από την καταχρηστική/βάναυση χρήση του όρου “άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες”.
Το κυρίως σώμα του έχει ως ακολούθως :
“Η εμπέδωση ενός πολιτισμού αμοιβαίας κατανόησης και συναντίληψης πρωτίστως προσαπαιτεί την διαμόρφωση και συναρμογή ενός κοινού κώδικα επικοινωνίας. Αρχής γενομένης από την ορθή χρήση σε καθημερινή βάση ενός λεξιλογίου, απολύτως συνάδοντος με την ανθρωποκεντρική προσέγγιση, που τάσσουν διεθνώς οι εξελίξεις στον χώρο των δικαιωμάτων των ατόμων με αναπηρία.
Η χρήση του όρου «άτομα με ειδικές ανάγκες» στις ηχητικές ανακοινώσεις ειδοποίησης του φορέα σας, αφενός δεν ανταποκρίνεται στην σύγχρονη επιστημονική, πολιτική και κοινωνική μεταχείριση της αναπηρίας ως συνθήκης εφόσον αντικατοπτρίζει προ ετών εγκαταλειφθείσες ιατρο-κεντρικές προσεγγίσεις πατερναλιστικού χαρακτήρα που εστιάζουν μονοδιάστατα στο έλλειμμα και την μειονεξία, αφετέρου έχει αντικατασταθεί από τον όρο «άτομα με αναπηρία» με την Ομόφωνη Απόφαση της 22ης Μαϊου 2001 όλων των Κρατών Μελών της Παγκόσμιας Οργάνωσης Υγείας, η οποία στην 54η Διάσκεψη της προέβη στην ριζική αναμόρφωση του εν λόγω ορισμού συμπεριλαμβάνοντας στο περιεχόμενο του και την αλληλεπίδραση των τυχών τιθέμενων εμποδίων, στρέφοντας το ενδιαφέρον της Παγκόσμιας Κοινότητας από την βλάβη στην ένταξη, στην ισότητα πρόσβασης και εν τέλει στον προσεταιρισμό σε όλα τα επίπεδα με όρους αξιοπρέπειας.
Σημειώνεται μάλιστα προς ενίσχυση της ανωτέρω επιχειρηματολογίας μας, ότι τον εδώ προτεινόμενο όρο ενστερνίστηκαν τόσο τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη στο άρθρο 1 παρ. 2 της οικίας Διεθνούς Σύμβασης για τα Δικαιώματα των Ατόμων με Αναπηρία, που υπεγράφη και από την χώρα μας στην Νέα Υόρκη στις 13 Δεκεμβρίου του 2006, το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης κατά τρόπο πανηγυρικό στην Σύσταση του REC (2006) 5, ο Συνταγματικός μας Νομοθέτης, ο οποίος τον κατοχυρώνει στην παρ. 6 του άρθρου 21 Συντ. 1975/1986/2001/2008 όσο και οι φορείς εκπροσώπησης του Διεθνούς, Ευρωπαϊκού και Εθνικού Αναπηρικού Κινήματος.
Ως ισότιμα μέλη της Ελληνικής Κοινωνίας προσδοκούμε την δημιουργία πρόσφορου εδάφους για την ανάπτυξη συνειδησιακών εκτυπώσεων χωρίς στερεότυπα και αρνητικές αναπαραστάσεις για την συνθήκη της αναπηρίας, με το βλέμμα στραμμένο πάντα στον άνθρωπο, σε κάθε άνθρωπο χωρίς διακρίσεις.”

Το Σύνδρομο Γονικής Αποξένωσης ή Αλλοτρίωσης είναι φαινόμενο που παρατηρείται σε παιδιά τα οποία δεν επιθυμούν επαφή με κάποιον από τους δύο γονείς. Αυτό εμφανίζεται κυρίως σε παιδιά χωρισμένων.

Ιστορικό
Στις αρχές του 1970, όταν τα διαζύγια βρισκόταν σε υψηλούς βαθμούς στον δυτικό κόσμο, ο Gardner ερεύνησε βαθιά το θέμα των επιπτώσεων στα παιδιά των διαζυγίων.
Δεν ήταν εύκολο να εξηγηθούν φαινόμενα όπου το παιδί στρεφόταν εναντίον του γονέα που δεν είχε την επιμέλεια δίχως λόγο. Αυτό μπορούσε να συμβεί σε οποιαδήποτε ηλικία. Δεν ήταν απλή συκοφαντική δυσφήμιση του άλλου γονέα, δεν ήταν απλή πλύση εγκεφάλου του παιδιού, δεν ήταν απλό ψυχολογικό του πρόβλημα. Κάτι το διαφορετικό, το ανεξήγητο συνέβαινε.
Ήταν φόβος; Ήταν ψυχιατρικό φαινόμενο; Είχε σχέση με δικαστικές αποφάσεις; Είχε σχέση με την ψυχολογία, τις μεθόδους και την ψυχική κατάσταση του γονέα με τον οποίο μένει το παιδί; Μήπως όλα αυτά;
Πρώτος μίλησε γ΄αυτό ο Gardner (PAS : Parental Alienation Syndrome) αλλά και οι Turkat, Nichols, κτλ. Στην Ελλάδα, Ο ΣΥ.Γ.Α.Π.Α. (Σύλλογος Για την Ανδρική και Πατρική Αξιοπρέπεια) πραγματοποίησε ημερίδες όπου γ΄αυτό μίλησαν οι: Σπιτάλας Ν., Χριστοδουλάκης Θ.
Πράγματι, ο Gardner και ο Turkat μετά από έρευνες νομικών και ψυχολογικών θεμάτων και περιπτώσεων παιδιών διαζευγμένων, απέδειξαν ότι αποτελεί σύνδρομο βαθιά ριζωμένο στη συνείδηση και τον ψυχικό κόσμο του παιδιού και δεν αποβάλλεται. Υπάρχει σε ήπια, σε μέτρια και σε βαριά μορφή.
Στην τελευταία κατηγορία, το παιδί δεν έχει ενοχές, δεν θέλει καμία σχέση με τον άλλο γονέα (ούτε και τηλεφωνική), τρομάζει και απεχθάνεται τον γονέα. Μάλιστα μπορεί και να πάει σε δικαστήριο εναντίον του επειδή το έπεισε ο γονέας με τον οποίο διαμένει.
Το 2002, το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο αναγνώρισε το Σύνδρομο Γονεϊκής Αποξένωσης (Parental Alienation Syndrome * P.A.S.) σε μια Διεθνή Διάσκεψη.
Η κυρία Mary BANOTTI (διαμεσολαβήτρια για τις διεθνείς απαγωγές παιδιών), γράφει στην έκθεσή της, ΠΑΡΑΡΤΗΜΑ V ότι: αυτό το φαινόμενο αναγνωρίζεται ολοένα και περισσότερο ως πρόβλημα των παιδιών στα οποία δεν επιτρέπεται η πρόσβαση στον ένα ή στον άλλο γονέα. Ο γονέας που έχει την επιμέλεια φροντίζει να αποξενώσει τον γονέα που δεν έχει την επιμέλεια από τα παιδιά του και αυτή η πρακτική είναι δυστυχώς πολύ συνηθισμένη και έχει καταστροφικές συνέπειες για το παιδί. Είναι σημαντικό οι δικαστικές αρχές και οι κοινωνικοί λειτουργοί που αναλαμβάνουν παιδιά σε αυτή την κατάσταση να γνωρίζουν ότι υπάρχουν τέτοιες συμπεριφορές και δεν πρέπει να κάνουν διακρίσεις κατά τη λήψη αποφάσεων σχετικά με την πρόσβαση και τα δικαιώματα επίσκεψης.
Σε πέντε πολιτείες των Η.Π.Α., αναγνωρίσθηκε η 24η Απριλίου κάθε έτους ως ημέρα γονικής αποξένωσης (parental alienation). Πλείστα άρθρα σε περιοδικά και εφημερίδες την διετία 2005-2007 αναφέρονται στο σύνδρομο αυτό και στην Ελλάδα.
Υπολογίζεται ότι ο αριθμός των αποξενωμένων παιδιών στην Ελλάδα ανέρχεται σε εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες και είναι ο υψηλότερος τόσο σε ποσοστά όσο και σε απόλυτους αριθμούς σε όλο τον κόσμο.
Σε τέσσερεις Πολιτείες των ΗΠΑ καθώς και σε άλλες χώρες, έχει αναγνωριστεί επίσημα και μάλιστα αναφέρεται σε δικαστικές αποφάσεις της Γαλλίας, Καναδά, Ολλανδίας, κτλ για να εξηγηθεί η άρνηση του παιδιού να συναστραφεί με τον γονέα που δεν έχει την επιμέλεια. Σ΄αυτό το θέμα, ο καθηγητής Κουμάντος προτείνει αναστροφή της επιμέλειας λόγω κακής άσκησης διότι επιμένει ότι ο γονέας στον οποίο έχει ανατεθεί η επιμέλεια παιδιού πρέπει να τρέφει αγαθά συναισθήματα για τον άλλο γονέα στο παιδί. Καθιερώνεται η 25η Ιουλίου ως Παγκόσμια ημέρα Αποξένωσης. Το σύνδρομο αυτό έχουν και τα παιδιά των διαζυγίων που η μητέρα ψευδώς κατήγγειλε τον πατέρα για σεξουαλική παρενόχληση-κακοποίηση.
Στο ιστολόγιο του ΣΥΓΑΠΑ ΠΑΤΡΑΣ έχει αναρτηθεί ολόκληρη η εισήγηση της κυρίας Μανώλα, ψυχολόγου σε ημερίδα της Λάρισας για τις περιπτώσεις αυτές.
Ο Gardner διαχωρίζει το Σύνδρομο Γονικής Αποξένωσης από Την Γονική Αποξένωση ως γενικού όρου όπου υπάρχουν αίτια όπως γονική παραμέληση, κακοποίηση (σωματική, συναισθηματική, σεξουαλική), εγκατάλειψη ή και αποξένωση από γονική συμπεριφορά. Ειδικά, το Σύνδρομο PAS είναι πολύ συγκεκριμένο και υποκατηγορία του προηγούμενου το οποίο προκύπτει από ΄πλύση εγκεφάλου΄ και την παιδική συμπεριφορά-φόβο. Ο Δρ Douglass επισημαίνει οτι η Γονική Αποξένωση επικεντρώνεται στη συμπεριφορά των γονέων ενώ το Σύνδρομο Γονικής Αποξένωσης εστιάζεται στην κατάσταση και συμπεριφορά του παιδιού από την αδικαιολόγητη εκστρατεία συκοφάντησης-δυσφήμισης του άλλου γονέα.
Συμπτώματα
Άγχος, νευρικότητα, κατάθλιψη, αδιαφορία προς τον γονέα που δεν έχει την επιμέλεια, εχθρότητα, απέχθεια, δεν θέλει τηλεφωνική ή άλλη επαφή, φοβάται να εκδηλώσει τα συναισθήματά του μπροστά στον γονέα από τον οποίο εξαρτάται με δικαστικά απόφαση. Σίγουρα προηγήθηκε το Σύνδρομο της Στοκχόλμης και συκοφαντική δυσφήμιση.
Παραδείγματα
Πρώτο παράδειγμα (βαρειά μορφή): Παιδί πέντε ετών άκουσε την μητέρα του να κατηγορεί τον πατέρα για παρενόχλησή του και ενδεχόμενη κακοποίησή του. Αυτό το φανταστικό γεγονός ενσωμάτωσε στο υποσυνείδητό του και μίσησε τον πατέρα.
Δεύτερο παράδειγμα (μέτρια μορφή): Μητέρα κατηγόρησε τον πατέρα, κατά τη στιγμή του διαζυγίου, για δική της κακοποίηση. Η συκοφαντία αυτή άγγιξε την ψυχή του παιδιού και αυτό δεν θέλει να δει και να μιλήσει στον πατέρα. Η μητέρα όμως συνεργάζεται με ψυχολόγο.
Τρίτο παράδειγμα (ήπια μορφή): Υπάρχουν κατηγορίες ενάντια στον πατέρα και έντονη διαμάχη διαζυγίου . Το παιδί φοβάται, οδηγείται σε παιδοψυχίατρο. Μετά από χρόνια, η πάθηση αυτή είναι ανατρέψιμη.

«Θυμάμαι ότι έφυγα από τη Βουλγαρία κρατώντας μόνο μία κούκλα στην αγκαλιά μου»Πουλήθηκε ανήλικη από τη μητέρα της, υπέμεινε βιασμούς και ξυλοδαρ­μούς και κατέληξε σε μπαρ στα Τρίκαλα. Η ιστορία της Μαργαρίτας από τη Βουλγαρία είναι παρόμοια με χιλιάδων άλλων γυναικών.

Σε έκθεση της Interpol επισημαίνεται ότι ένας σωματέμπορος στην Ευρώπη κερδίζει 110.000 ευρώ ετησίως από μία «γυ­ναίκα-θύμα» τράφικινγκ.
Σε ηλικία μόλις 12 ετών η ίδια της η μητέρα την πούλησε σε τσιγγάνο «επιχειρηματία» στα Γιαννιτσά, επί χρόνια παρέμενε κλειδωμένη και υπέμενε τους απανωτούς βιασμούς της, πριν ενηλικιωθεί ήταν ήδη μητέρα 2 παιδιών, στη συνέχεια βρέθηκε σε «ανδρικό» μπαρ στα Τρίκαλα, πριν καταλήξει ως άλλο ένα θύμα στον ξενώνα του Δικτύου Γυναικών Ευρώπης για γυναίκες-θύματα σωματεμπορίας.
Η ιστορία της 23χρονης Μαργαρίτας από τη Βουλγαρία είναι... απλώς άλλη μία δραματική ιστορία χιλιάδων θυμάτων του τράφικινγκ. Μικρές κοπέλες από κάθε μέρος του κόσμου γίνονται εμπορεύσιμα «προϊόντα» και πωλούνται λαθραία σαν «φορτία», ακολουθώντας σκοτεινές «υπόγειες διαδρομές»...
Παλαιότερα οι περισσότερες αλλοδαπές πόρνες προέρχονταν από τον Τρίτο Κόσμο. Σήμερα πλειοψηφούν όσες προέρχονται από την Αν. Ευρώπη και τα Βαλκάνια.
Στη χώρα μας υπολογίζεται ότι υπάρχουν σήμερα 25.000 γυναίκες-θύματα του τράφικινγκ, από τις οποίες οι 12.500 είναι δηλωμένες που εξωθούνται στην πορνεία.
Βίαια μέσαΟι περισσότερες ήρθαν στην Ελλάδα για να βρουν εργασία ή απήχθησαν. Για τη στρατολόγησή τους οι σωματέμποροι χρησιμοποίησαν τα πιο βίαια μέσα: βιασμούς, ξυλοδαρμούς, κατακράτηση διαβατηρίων, απειλές για τη ζωή και τη σωματική ακεραιότητά τους, αλλά και των οικογενειών τους, εγκλεισμός των «απείθαρχων» σε διαμερίσματα χωρίς φαγητό και νερό...
«Δεν έζησα τα παιδικά μου χρόνια» λέει στο «Εθνος της Κυριακής», η 23χρονη Μαργαρίτα. «Η μητέρα μου με πούλησε όταν ήμουν 12 ετών σε μια οικογένεια στην Ελλάδα. Όπως μου αποκάλυψε αργότερα, ο τότε σύζυγός μου, με έδωσαν σε εξευτελιστική τιμή και ήμουν το δώρο του πεθερού μου στον γιο του!
Ο σύζυγός μου με βίαζε καθημερινά, με χτυπούσε, με κλείδωνε μέσα στο σπίτι και μου πέταγε ένα κομμάτι ψωμί για να μην πεθάνω της πείνας.
Δύο παιδιά απέκτησα μαζί του, αλλά δεν φαινόμουν πουθενά ως μητέρα τους, γιατί δήλωνε στο μαιευτήριο ψεύτικα στοιχεία. Πολλά χρόνια μετά έμαθα, με τη βοήθεια του Δικτύου, τα πραγματικά μου στοιχεία, δεν γνώριζα ούτε το επίθετό μου. Ήμουν τόσο μικρή. Θυμάμαι ότι έφυγα από τη Βουλγαρία κρατώντας μόνο μία κούκλα στην αγκαλιά μου», εξομολογείται η Μαργαρίτα.
Η λύτρωση ήρθε πολλά χρόνια μετά, όταν κάποιοι γείτονες, που άκουγαν τις κραυγές της από το ξύλο που έτρωγε καθημερινά, τη βοήθησαν να απευθυνθεί στο «Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού» και στη συνέχεια να φιλοξενηθεί στον ξενώνα του Δικτύου Γυναικών στην Αθήνα.
«Το Δίκτυο με βοήθησε πάρα πολύ» αναφέρει η Μαργαρίτα. «Ήμουν ένας αόρατος άνθρωπος, χωρίς χαρτιά, χωρίς χρήματα, χωρίς δικαιώματα. Ζούσα μέσα σε εκείνη την κόλαση και ξαφνικά άρχισα να βλέπω τον παράδεισο. Με τη συμπαράστασή τους επέστρεψα στη Βουλγαρία για να τελειώσω το δημοτικό και να προσπαθήσω να φτιάξω τη ζωή μου. Μάταια όμως...
Ξεγελάστηκα από έναν σωματέμπορο, ο οποίος μου υποσχέθηκε δουλειά στην Ελλάδα ως χορεύτρια σε φολκλορικές εκδηλώσεις. Το αποκορύφωμα ήταν ότι βρέθηκα στα Τρίκαλα κλεισμένη σ' ένα διαμέρισμα μαζί με ακόμη τρεις κοπέλες, που μας προόριζαν για άλλες δουλειές.
Ευτυχώς το έσκασα κι από κει και σήμερα βρίσκομαι στον ξενώνα και προσπαθώ να σταθώ στα πόδια μου» προσθέτει η 23χρονη Μαργαρίτα.
ΕΜΠΟΡΙΟ ΓΥΝΑΙΚΩΝ 7 τρισ. δολάρια ετησίως ο παγκόσμιος τζίρος
Η βιομηχανία του σεξ αποφέρει τρομα­κτικά κέρδη. Σύμφωνα με τον ΟΗΕ, ο τζίρος σε πα­γκό­­­­­­­­­­­­­σμιο επίπεδο ανέρχε­ται περίπου σε 7 τρισ. δολ. ετησίως! Σε έκθεση της Interpol επισημαίνεται ότι ένας σωματέμπορος στην Ευρώπη κερδίζει 110.000 ευρώ ετησίως από μία «γυ­ναίκα-θύμα» τράφικινγκ.
Η ετήσια έκθεση του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ, που δόθηκε στη δημοσιότητα τον Ιούνιο 2009, διαπίστωνε ότι «η ελληνική κυβέρνη­ση δεν έχει πλήρως συμ­­μορφωθεί με τις απαιτή­­­σεις για την καταπολέμηση της εμπορίας ανθρώπων». Δικηγόροι, δικαστές, αλλά και ένα μεγάλο τμήμα της κοινωνίας γνωρίζουν, αλλά δεν καταγγέλλουν. Δημό­σιοι λειτουργοί χρη­ματίζο­νται για να εκδώ­σουν άδει­ες παραμονής, ενώ σπάνια γίνονται έλεγ­χοι σε μπαρ από τις αρμό­διες αρχές.
ΠΡΟΕΔΡΟΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟΥ ΔΙΚΤΥΟΥ ΓΥΝΑΙΚΩΝ ΕΥΡΩΠΗΣ«Οι απειλές εγκλωβίζουν τα θύματα στα κυκλώματα»
«Η μαστροπεία, όπως αυτή εμφανίζεται και δρα, είναι πλέον μια οδυνηρή πραγματικότητα και αποτελεί ένα κεφάλι της Λερναίας Υδρας», υπογραμμίζει η κ. Νίκη Ρουμπάνη, πρόεδρος της ΜΚΟ Ελληνικό Δίκτυο Γυναικών Ευρώπης, που διατηρεί την τηλεφωνική γραμμή SΟS «Δίπλα σου».
«Η συνεργασία μας με την αστυνομία είναι αρκετά βελτιωμένη, αλλά όταν δεν υπάρχει στέγαση, περίθαλψη και πολύπλευρη στήριξη θυμάτων, τα κυκλώματα ανθίζουν. Μερικές φορές νιώθουμε αβοήθητοι, διότι το πρόβλημα είναι τεράστιο.
Από την εμπειρία μας με τα θύματα σωματεμπορίας, διαπιστώνουμε ότι τα κορίτσια αυτά, που στην πλειονότητά τους είναι πολύ νεαρής ηλικίας, χρειάζονται πολύ χρόνο για να συνέλθουν ψυχολογικά και να μπορέσουν να ενταχθούν στο υγιές τμήμα της κοινωνίας. Η ζωή τους κινδυνεύει πολλές φορές από αυτοκαταστροφικές συμπεριφορές και κατάθλιψη.
Ελάχιστες γυναίκες καταφέρνουν να ξεφύγουν από αυτά τα κυκλώματα. Το γεγονός ότι δεν έχουν νόμιμα χαρτιά, ο τρόμος για την οικογένεια που βρίσκεται πίσω στην πατρίδα, η πλύση εγκεφάλου ότι ''αν το σκάσεις, θα σε σκοτώσουμε'', ''αν πας στην αστυνομία θα σε δώσουν πίσω’’, έχουν ως αποτέλεσμα τα θύματα να εγκλωβίζονται στα κυκλώματα», προσθέτει η κ. Ρουμπάνη.

Ο κ. Γιαλσίν Αγιασλί, ο Τούρκο-Αμερικανός επιχειρηματίας και ιδιοκτήτης της εταιρείας Hittite Microwaves, χρηματοδότησε το Τουρκικό λόμπυ στην Αμερική, με δεκάδες εκατομμύρια δολάρια. Σύμφωνα με επίσημες πηγές, Ο Συνασπισμός Τουρκικών Οργανώσεων Αμερικής, έχει χρηματοδοτηθεί σχεδόν αποκλειστικά από τον κ. Γιαλσίν Αγιασλί. Global meetings of kleptocrats fail to live up to the hype and the promises made. A lot of money is spent laying them on. Host cities are disrupted for days or even weeks. The cavalcades roll into town. Good intentions are shared in productive talks. Then, somehow, those intentions rarely seem to come to fruition in real, tangible global action. When kleptocrats meet again a year later, they find things haven't really moved on.Basil Venitis, twitter.com/Venitis, points out Eurokleptocrats are often taking very expensive junkets, taking advantage of their positions and access to public funds to undertake pleasure trips thinly disguised as being of political importance. For example, a Eurokeptocrat might travel to Greece, claiming to attend a conference there, but leaving plenty of days to explore the Greek islands and Greek delights at leisure. Venitists target certain Eurokleptocrats for taking frequent junkets, reminding voters of their free ways with public funds when election day rolls around.G20 is a junket without international legitimacy; it has no mandate and it is unclear which functions it actually has. The G20 is a self-appointed group. Its composition is determined by the major countries and powers. G20 in terms of international cooperation, is one of the greatest setbacks since World War II. The key goal of the G20 junket is to continue the recovery of the world economy and secure sustainable growth. The argument proposed by some that deficit reduction and growth are mutually exclusive is completely wrong.Basil Venitis, an Athenian orator, muses that kleptocrats, accompanied by their kith and kin, are going because they cannot miss a good party at taxpayers' expense. The worst thing that could happen in a junket is running out of caviar and hookers. Many junketeers use military jets that cost 10,000 euros per hour!The whole approach underlined by the IMF for this G20 and the subsequent meeting in Seoul is all about how the world should maximise growth through the right combination of three things: deficit reduction, tackling imbalances particularly through actions by emerging economies; and structural reform in the advanced economies.On deficit reduction, the G20 junket agreed that those countries with serious fiscal challenges need to accelerate the pace of consolidation and that there was a risk that failure to implement consolidation would undermine confidence and hamper growth.The advanced G20 economies committed to at least halve current deficits by 2013 and stabilise government debt to GDP ratios by 2016.And while we agreed that the speed and timing of deficit reduction will vary with national circumstances, the verdict of the G20 was unequivocal.For countries with large deficits the time to act is now.Britain has one of the largest deficits in the G20.And the G20 junket specifically welcomed the plans set out in our Budget last week.In terms of addressing the fundamental imbalances, China's recent decision to move towards greater exchange rate flexibility is welcome.And because in the end growth only comes from rising productivity, we also agreed on the need to pursue structural reform across the whole G20 to increase and sustain our growth prospects.On financial reform the G20 agreed a set of principles on bank levies to ensure the financial sector makes a fair and substantial contribution towards paying for any burdens associated with government interventions to repair the financial system.This is very much in line with the plans for a bank levy which we announced in the Budget.And on making sure that the banks in all countries can withstand future crises we also agreed that the amount of capital will be significantly higher and the quality of capital significantly improved.And we agreed that new standards on the quality, quantity and transparency of capital and liquidity should be finalised by the Seoul summit in November.Basle took ten years, this looks like it will be completed in one.But while the drawing up of clear, robust new rules is absolutely essential it is important that they are not implemented too quickly. We do not want to a further monetary squeeze or a reduction in bank lending at this stage of the recovery.The biggest stimulus we could give to the world economy today is the expansion of trade. Venitis notes this is a watershed moment for Uncle Ken(UK). The country's public debt is soaring. The great engine room of British prosperity, the financial sector, now feels like an anchor. This is the record of spin, irresponsibility, and top-down state control. The glory days of London are now grinding to a halt. The main symbol of Britain's global might, London found financing for some of the world's earliest and most prominent multinational companies, and has had greater influence on global finance than Westminster has had on geopolitics. My great test will be not only to redefine Britain's place among great nations, but also to adopt a venitist spirit. The most efficient political system is venitism, where everything is private, there are no taxes at all, there is no parliament, and a powerless infinitesimal government is chosen and supported not by hoi polloi, but by the most generous benefactors.While the G20 agreement to extend its pledge that there should be no additional trade barriers put in place is welcome, continued failure to make progress on Doha is deeply disappointing.This has now been 8 years in negotiation and frankly there can be little confidence that as things stand the round will be completely rapidly.A completed trade round could add $170 billion to the world economy.The UK led the working session on this issue at the G20. One potential way of making progress is to try to add to the benefits of the round so all parties can see reasons for going that final mile.The Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Pascal Lamy, suggested that all trade negotiators should return to the table and consider both what it is they really need from the round and what it is they are prepared to offer to get it moving again. This will lead to a report at the Seoul meeting in November.In my view, too many people still see this as a zero sum game where one country's success in exports is another country's failure.This is nonsense. Everyone can benefit from an increase in trade flows.We will play our part in breaking the log-jam.I want Uncle Ken(UK)to lead the charge in making the case for growing trade flows around the world.On Climate change, while the G8 Communique was strongly positive on limiting the rise in global temperatures to less than 2 degrees and seeking an ambitious and binding post-20112 agreement, at the G20 the Communique was more limited. This is partly because some countries do not see the G20 as the forum for discussing this issue.Venitis has proven that climate change is heliogenic, not anthropogenic. Nevertheless, carbonmonger kleptocrats, using buzzwords like carbon footprint and clean energy, are growing a socialist movement that won't actually benefit Gaia, but will make our lives miserable, spread by the cancer of socialism. Temperature fluctuations are only due to Sun cycles, but are used as an antivenitist instrument, not a real object of interest for socialists who camouflage the environmental game. In discussions it was also clear that there was widespread disappointment at the way that Copenhagen failed to deliver a legally binding global deal. We must not give up on this. Venitist Congressman Ron Paul points out this past week various news events once again made it abundantly clear that American foreign policy is an abject failure. Unfortunately, in spite of this the administration is determined to stay on this destructive course, despite any past promises to change it. American troops have debilitating restrictions on defending themselves against enemies, which are so often indistinguishable from civilians. They also face dire setbacks in winning hearts and minds when innocents are mistakenly harmed, which happens all the time. Americans can never make friends this way; the tactic never works. This is an expensive, bloody, endless exercise in futility. Not everyone is willing to admit this just yet. But every second they spend in denial has real costs in lives and livelihoods. What many Americans bizarrely consider national defense is actually an aggressive and enduring offense, and yet we are always surprised when other nations get offended. Many of Americans can agree on one thing, however. American military spending in general has grown way out of control. This is largely because fiscal accountability in military budgeting is seen, by many, as weak on defense. This is absolutely wrong and a dangerous way to think. It is certainly possible for the military to waste money, or to spend money counterproductively, and indeed it has. But out of political correctness, the military has been getting blank checks from the administrations and Congress for far too long. Of course, the obvious way to save money and be safer is to stop meddling in the affairs of foreign countries and just bring American troops home. ...Είχαν περάσει αρκετές μέρες, από τότε που είχα έλθει από την Αμερική, όταν κάποιο πρωινό, στις 30 Μαΐου 1961, έκανε την εμφάνισή του στο Ίδρυμα ένας λευκογένειος Γέροντας, ο αγγελιοφόρος του Θεού, και τον ακούω να ερωτά: -«Ποιος, παιδιά μου, ήλθε αυτήν την εποχή από το Εξωτερικό;». Όταν του έδειξαν το κρεββάτι μου, με πλησιάζει και μ\' ερωτάει: «Έχεις, παιδί μου, έλθει από το Εξωτερικό;». -«Μάλιστα, Παππούλη μου», του απαντώ. Εκείνος μου δίνει το χέρι του. «αλλά, τα χέρια μου, του λέω, είναι παράλυτα, δεν μπορώ να τα σηκώ σω». «Και τα πόδια σου; μ\' ερωτά». «Και τα πόδια μου επίσης, του λέγω». -«Δοξασμένο το όνομα του Θεού, λέγει». Εγώ τον κύτταζα περίεργα. Άρχισε τότε να μ\' ερωτά, πώς κτύπησα, από πού κατάγομαι και άλλα. Νομίζοντας ότι με ρωτάει από περιέργεια, κι\' επειδή ήθελα να σταματήση αυτό το ερωτηματολόγιο, του λέγω: «Παππούλη, ποιον ζητάτε; πέστε μου για να σας εξυπηρετήσω». «Δεν ζητώ άλλον, παιδί μου, για σένα ήλθα...». Για μένα; «Ναι, για σένα ήλθα να σου πω δυο λέξεις, και θα φύγω...». «Μα παππούλη, του λέγω, αφού ήλθες για μένα, κάθησε στην καρέκλα και ότι θέλεις πες μου». Πράγματι εκάθησε και μου είπε: «Παιδί μου, να είσαι ευτυχής που βρίσκεσαι σ\' αυτήν την θέση...». Τον κύτταξα μ\' έκπληξη και του απαντώ: «Πώς να είμαι ευτυχής, εφ\' όσον είμαι παράλυτος;...». -«Ναι, παιδί μου, αλλά τώρα είσαι κοντά στο Θεό. Είχες απομακρυνθή, αλλ\' Εκείνος σε αγαπάει, και πρόσεξε μη γογγύσης ποτέ εναντίον του, γιατί δεν γνωρίζεις τί σου επιφυλάσσει ως το τέλος της ζωής σου. Φίλες και φίλοι μου, χρειαζόμαστε άτομα πρόθυμα να προωθήσουν την Ενωτική Πολιτική, και άτομα ικανά να κυβερνήσουν ζητώντας την εξουσία από το λαό, κατά τις ερχόμενες βουλευτικές εκλογές.. Άτομα που δεν θα υποστηρίξουν κάποιο κόμμα, αλλά την εθνική μας ενότητα. Αν γνωρίζετε λοιπόν άτομα ικανά και πρόθυμα ν’ ασχοληθούν με την πολιτική, στείλτε τους το παρακάτω μήνυμα, ενημερώνοντάς τα για την Ενωτική Πολιτική και την Ένωση Πολιτών Ελλάδος. Η διαιρετική πολιτική των κομμάτων, βλάπτοντας με τον χειρότερο τρόπο τη χώρα μας, έχει απαξιωθεί τόσο έντονα από τους πολίτες, που θεωρώ ότι ματαιοπονούν οι συνεχίζοντες να επενδύουν σε αυτήν. Όσο για τους νέους πολιτικούς, που από αφέλεια κινδυνεύουν να εγκλωβιστούνε στα γρανάζια της, θεωρώ ότι αυτοκτονούν!. Η διαιρετική πολιτική, είναι μια τάση που αποτελεί πλέον παρελθόν.Το γεγονός ότι οι εκφραστές της μας εξαπάτησαν με τον πλέον αναξιοπρεπή τρόπο, καθιστά την παρουσία τους αποκρουστική. Γεννώντας στην συνείδησή μας που επιτέλους αφυπνίζεται, τη ανάγκη να ενωθούμε, καθώς ομόφωνα επιθυμούμε, την εθνική μας επιβίωση. Τα ψέματα τελείωσαν λοιπόν, και δεν χρειαζόμαστε μεσάζοντες!. Γνωρίζουμε όμως να εκτιμούμε τους ανθρώπους με ικανότητες, που αγαπούν τη χώρα μας, κι εργάζονται ανιδιοτελώς για την πρόοδό της.. Η Ενωτική πολιτική, είναι η νέα πρόταση οργάνωσης των πολιτών, που ήδη έχει γεννηθεί και θα ακμάσει κατά την 3η χιλιετία. Αποτελεί λοιπόν τιμή σας, να λειτουργήσετε ως πρωτεργάτες μίας ελπιδοφόρας τάσης, ανοίγοντας με τη συμμετοχή σας μια νέα σελίδα στην Ιστορία. Ενώ τα κόμματα συνεχίζουν να διαιρούν, τους συμπολίτες μας σε αριστερούς και δεξιούς, εσείς, αν πραγματικά ενδιαφέρεστε για μας, προσπαθήστε να τους ενώσετε, σε πρώτη φάση γύρω από την αυτονόητη ανάγκη εθνικής ενότητας, ενώ σε δεύτερη γύρω από κοινούς τόπους όπως το επάγγελμα, τα ενδιαφέροντα, οι ανάγκες, οι ιδιορρυθμίες της ηλικίας κλπ.. Δημιουργώντας Ενώσεις όπως: Ένωση Αγροτών Ελλάδος, Ένωση Αγροτών Πιερίας, Ένωση εμπόρων Ελλάδος, Ένωση εμπόρων Πιερίας, Ένωση φοιτητών Ελλάδος, Ένωση καθηγητών Ελλάδος, Ένωση Εικαστικών Καλλιτεχνών, Ένωση Μουσικών, Ένωση Εργατών, κλπ.. Γνωρίζετε ότι οι ενώσεις αυτές είναι διαιρεμένες απ’ τα κόμματα, με αποτέλεσμα να απορροφάται η δημιουργική ενέργειά τους προς αυτά. Προσπαθήστε λοιπόν να ενώσετε τα μέλη τους, υπερβαίνοντας την κομματική διχόνοια, ώστε να δουν επιτέλους τις αληθινές τους επιδιώξεις, σχεδιάζοντας ανεπηρέαστα το μέλλον τους. Συνεργαστείτε ανιδιοτελώς, δίχως να απορροφάτε την ενέργεια των μελών, για να τροφοδοτήσετε κάποιο κόμμα ή το πρόσωπό σας!. Προσφέρετε όλο σας το είναι στην πρόοδο της ένωσης, με πρόθεση να ακουστεί η φωνή της στην βουλή. Και όταν έρθει η κατάλληλη στιγμή, για την οποία εργαζόμαστε όλοι μας, τα μέλη της θα επιλέξουν το άτομο που θα τα εκπροσωπεί, σε κάθε περίοδο εκλογών. Israel's premier, the defense chief, and many more will be called to testify in an investigation into a deadly raid on a Gaza propaganda flotilla. They are named after Asena, a female wolf in mythology associated with Turkic ethnic origins. The organization carried out many thousands of murders, especially in Cyprus. Gray Wolves have been responsible for numerous political assassinations and disappearances of human rights activists, and have ties with the Turkish mafia. Gray Wolf Mehmet Ali Agca attempted to kill Pope John Paul II in 1981.Venitis asserts that Israel is a bastion of freedom and Graecoroman culture, an economic miracle, and a leader in science and technology. Israel is the only free country in a region dominated by Arab monarchies, theocracies and dictatorships. It is only the citizens of Israel, Arabs and Jews alike, who enjoy the right to express their views, to criticize their government, to form political parties, to publish private newspapers, to hold free elections. When Islamists deny the most basic freedoms to their own people, it is obscene for them to start claiming that Israel is violating the Palestinians' rights. All Muslims who are genuinely concerned with human rights should, as their very first action, seek to oust their own despotic rulers and adopt the type of free society that characterizes Israel.Land-for-peace is a repugnant formula for Israel's self-immolation. The right of a civilized nation to self-defense against its barbarous enemies is a moral absolute. It should not be surrendered in a vain attempt to appease the initiators of war. It is a moral perversion to demand that Israel give back the very land it captured in the process of defending itself against wars launched by the Arab aggressors. A criminal has no right to protest the justice of having his guns confiscated by the police, and particularly not a criminal who continues to underwrite acts of crime. And the worst of the land-for-peace policy is that it caused Israel to give the Palestinians their own domain, with the job of protecting against terrorism entrusted terrorists. When Israel ended its occupation of Gaza, it did not impose a blockade. Indeed it left behind agricultural facilities in the hope that the newly liberated Gaza Strip would become a peaceful and productive area. Instead Hamas seized control over Gaza and engaged in acts of warfare against Israel. These acts of warfare featured 10,000 rockets directed at Israeli civilians. This was not only an act of warfare, it was a war crime. Israel responded to the rockets by declaring a blockade, the purpose of which was to assure that no rockets, or other material that could be used for making war against Israeli civilians, was permitted into Gaza. Israel allowed humanitarian aid through its checkpoints. Egypt as well participated in the blockade. There was never a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, merely a shortage of certain goods that would end if the rocket attacks ended. In the aftermath of the recent gun battle aboard a Turkish propaganda ship heading for Gaza, international leaders have been queuing up to attack Israel. From Ankara to Brussels, the condemnation of the only longstanding democracy in the Middle East has been swift and unequivocal. The United Nations, the European Union, and the Arab League have all engaged in a frenzy of denunciation, even before all the facts have been established. Israel continues to be the U.N.'s favorite whipping boy: In the past four years, 33 of the 40 resolutions passed by the U.N. Human Rights Council(HRC) have condemned Israel. If there is no doubt that the offending ships have made a firm determination to break the blockade, then the blockade may be enforced before the offending ships cross the line into domestic waters.
